You have done several Poland guides but I think we are way overdue for a Lithuania guide and with the new DLC I think now is the perfect time for one. Teutonic Order would be my second choice. I am doing a Denmark campaign right now and when I finish it I am likely going to play as the Teutons because that mission tree sounds great.

27:09 If you have a parliament you want indeed to grant the seats to the provinces with the highest development, because a province with a seat gets +10% tax, +10% production and +10% manpower - so in effect it roughly works as if it was +10% free development.

That's good until Absolutism comes round. Granting a Parliament seat costs absolutism, but you don't lose any if the seats are assigned automatically.

@@DylanSargesson I wish they'd just buff parliaments a bit. Its weird that being a stable constitutional monarchy makes for a weaker country than being a total despot. Or I guess more penalties for high absolutism outside of just the revolution, not like subjects getting pissed at despots was suddenly invented in the 18th century.

@@daroaminggnome Parliamentary debate rewards can be fairly useful throughout the game both in peace and war. One just needs to understand what the weights are for certain debates to pop up. Charter Colonies is a favorite of mine but there are a number of them in the three monarch power fields that have important uses. One can always avoid the absolutism loss by either enacting Parliament prior to the Age or letting the game pick a seat itself. Players gush over absolutism too much, I think. It's easy to get to max it out, even with the -30 from the Parliament reform.

@@DarkHairedOne We were not discussing the value of parliamentarism, but the method of determining seats once you are there. Before the age of absolutism, choosing the largest provinces as I suggested is probably best. Once you are in the age of absolutism, it's probably best to not pick provinces at all, but let the game auto-decide, as Dylan suggests.

Ive noticed this patch that the ai is crazy good at naval invasions. Even my own subjects actually use their navy to fight rebels. Loving the new patch and dlc.

I vassalized Byzantium in my new Poland campaign and they navally invaded the southern part of Naples and fully occupied them. Definitely a pretty nice change.

For fellow gold hoarders, in addition copper and iron, a gold mine can spawn in your capital, Akerhus, with the 'Restore the Infrastructure'. At least it happened to my vassal Norway while I was playing Sweden.

In my danmark to skandinavia run i got a gold mine in akerhus und severeal Cooper and Iron provinces, so yeah ist useful

@@general8191 That, and even if you hadn't managed to complete the mission, you can still do it after you form Scandinavia since the extra missions you get after you form Scandinavia includes a similar mission, albeit a harder version. (Norway one requires 8, Scandinavia requires 10 devs in 3 states)

Instead of making Novgorod's annexed land into a trade company, in 1.34, you can also release Karelia as a vassal and divert trade. Karelia has pretty decent ideas for a march or can simply be integrated later.

So, when you first get a parliament, you should start a debate *first* before handing out seats The parliament seats get improved production, taxes and more sailors, iirc (10% to all)

Great video! I'd really like to see a Teuton guide. Preferably the Diplomatic (or any) Prussia path. Once you beat Poland the crusader path becomes kind of linear so I think the Prussian path is more in need of a guide. First time I tried it all of the HRE entered a coalition against me when I vassalized Brandenburg. Fun times

Sweden declares independence earlier. Every single try. What i supposed to do? Also Poland don't reach Denmark and not join our war. Only England and Sweden

if you allied them that's probably why as they made the ai more likely to declare independence as Sweden used to sit at 100 LD for the whole game. also you could try being a little faster but that's not really a good tip.

If you hover over the button to give parliament seats, you can see the modifiers it provides to the province. The only one I remember is goods produced

I just wanted to say after your independence from Denmark you can actually declare on the Isles right after not pull in France take a bunch of Scotland and France will most likely stop guaranteeing them since they are too weak to help against England.

Yep, declaring on subjects bypasses guarantees on their overlords. Actually had AI Ottomans attack Athens while I was guaranteeing Byzantium a long time ago. Lessons learned...

Hey, I was wondering if you knew how the "Lost settlement of Greenland" event works? I know it's a 90% chance to not find the settlement, but is it a one time rollor can you savescum and reroll the odds?

I tried that 60 times. Didn't do anything. Some people responded to me in forums saying that it does not work: mission events do not fire randomly. This means that your result is set for the savegame and cannot be changed by restarting.

What I understood about seats in parlament they give you some bonuses so its better put them in coast to get marines too but decreases absolutism depending how developed the province is.

i had a ridiculously lucky start... there was pretender rebels that gave me independenace before i had to fight my independance war... which meant i had no truce and could immedeately declare to take over the danish crown.

I remember at one point in the last patch i was just fucking about as sweden for a bit, wanted to play with just balls to the wall army quality buffs, took aristo, inno, quality, offensive, trade as well as economic being around idea 6 if i remember correctly so like I was not trying to stack devving modifiers or any economic bonuses for like 150 years or something stupid and still I was making like a decent 50plus ducats with level 3 advisors across the board with dalaskogen from production alone I was netting 8 ducats and oooohhh boy did that skyrocket when I remembered that fur was also valuable, and I had previously integrated novgorod which is like 99% fur basically so obviously the next thing to do is trade eco it just needed to be done I was so stupid rich I honestly think Ive had dutch runs where I didnt get as rich

U can pounce on Scotland regardless if they're guaranteed by france by striking their subject. I've done so in my norway run in the latest dlc to effectively avoid france. (If the isles are annexed prior to you striking tho this doesn't apply)

This works with guarantees. NOT with alliances. When you declare on a vassal, their overlord joins as a co-belligerent and can therefore call in their allies.

I give parliment seat out to important provinces like ones with good trade goods or trade hubs/estuaries because of the provinces bonuses of having the seat.

Seats in Parliament gives some bonuses to the province. I recall at least a Trade bonus... I made all my centers of trade and such parliamentary seats in an england play, because of the trade modifier... what that was...

Parliament seats are good to hand out in high dev provinces, but they're especially important to hand out to provinces that have valuable trade goods or gold as the +10% production modifier will be a lot more valuable.

If you’d like to become Norse you should take Berslagen off of Sweden before enforcing PU. Event chain depends on owning that province.

The problem with Compromise with the Nobility is that you can't grab land from them as long as the privilege is active. Their land percentage will hover around 60 percent.

Vassalize Novgorod! They are a merchant republic (meaning tons of trade power for you & production bonus) plus plenty of cores to reconquer. Colonize Newfoundland first (+2 goods produced in all three provinces + Eastern American natives will immediately declare on your CN, annoying war early on when you don't have troops)

You should be able to give out 1 seat and then start your first debate, that way you only have "convince" that one and pass the debate. Then you can give out the rest of your seats.

Instead of Heavies, you could build galleys. You can very easily go to war with Scotland by attacking the Isles. This will bring in Scotland, but not France.

Okay, hear me out: When you conquer Russian clay, instead of TCing them or waiting until later to convert them... let them convert you. Become Orthodox. Sure, it's nowhere near as powerful now that all the other Christian faiths have gotten significant buffs... but it's an option.

Wait so if you can PU Denmark via your missions it would be way better to NOT get the help of Sweden and keep them in a PU under Denmark so you get a PU over Sweden for free when PUing Denmark :D

because if Denmarks rivals are at 100 opinion of you, the event in your missions makes any of the ones over 100 support your independence automatically. And in his case Poland was a rival of Denmark so improving with them will make them support you
