In this video titled EU4 A to Z - I Created THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH And It Was GLORIOUS I play as The Papal State in Europa Universalis 4 1.36 King of Kings. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of The Papal State and I attempt to conquer all of Italy, all of the Genoa, Venice, Valencia and Ragusa trade nodes and I attempt to form The Kingdom of God. Pattani is similar to Pathani, an adjectival term that describes Pashtun people from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Therefore conquer those areas.

The golden age of Pattani spanned the rule of 4 queens from the 15th to the 17th centuries, the last of which was Raja Kuning, which means "the Yellow Queen". So, as Pattani conquer all provinces of the Yellow river.

As Pattani just have a chill campaign and form Malaya or sum like that. SIKKEEEEEE Do what the other guy said and conquer Warsaw, Jakarta and Monaco because they all have the same flag, you’re not escaping the pain, Hawk.

I think Espionage ideas as an opener is kind of crazy for the Papal States. The AE reduction stacking is really strong, and you get a nice boost to diplo vassalizing acceptance that works really nicely in Italy and the HRE lands in general.

Yup it’s really nuts. I got careful on my ruler, before even completing national ideas I had -10 from trait -10 from prestige -20 from Curia controller -20 from ideas and -10 from age bonus! United all of Italy plus a couple more provinces by 1499

Honestly by clicking the "investigating heresy" button so much you only made protestant reformation appear earlier. Good tactic is to try to click it at the very last moment, when it is just below 100%, and only pressing it once or twice, not pulling it down all the way to the 0%, bonus they are getting to reform desire for button clicking is just too big. Also you want to destroy as many of unique catholic tags as you can, so there will be less events to raise the reform desire. With luck you can probably push it back to around 1550s. But honestly its kinda annoying since you have to basicaly babysit the button.

The Pope also gets some events to disable certain reform desire events at the cost of stability so if you take all of those hits to yourself you can really stamp out reform desire.

You can check a nation's primary culture in the diplomatic screen by hovering over the culture icon there. So you could've seen if France actually had become Tuscan like their queen

Just did a Holy Trinity run as the pope! Really fun to play that as well. Ended up sneaking my way through Hungary, bohemia and poland to get to the teutons, which was a nice change from the Mediterranean wars.

Um , i found a strange bug in eu4😂 namely if you scroll through dates in the timeline and choose the 1444 date afterwards... you may get some random cores in places where your chosen nation expands into in the future. For ex i did that randomly and then chose to play as brandenburg, and got core on Stettin and Rügen. Fully ironman save

According to Wikipedia, Pattani gets its name from a weird story: According to legend, the founder of Patani went hunting and saw an albino mouse-deer ⚪🦌 the size of a goat 🐐, which then disappeared. He enquired where the animal had gone, and his men replied: "Pata ni lah!" ("this beach!") They searched for the mouse-deer but found instead an old man, who said his name was Che' Tani. The raja later ordered a town be built on the site where the mouse-deer had disappeared, and it is therefore believed that the town was named either after the beach or the old man. -------------------- So for the mission you should honour it and conquer the lands of groups with Northeastern Woodlands ideas, because they are also connected with white deer with the White-Tailed Deer 🦌 idea. Also, bonus side objectives on theme: • Try and conquer neighbouring tribes with Oral Tradition (to copy the old man in the story) • Try and conquer neighbouring nations with old leaders (to copy the old man in the story) • Try and conquer neighbouring provinces with beeches

For Pattani, it is known in the comments of the four queens so for the challenge: Have a subject over 100 dev for every colour associated for every queen from their map colour (Purple for Malacca, Majapahit for red, etc.)

Greece would have probably found Papal rule less acceptable than Ottoman rule. The Ottomans let the Orthodox Church do its own thing, while the Catholics would have probably tried to impose their doctrines on the Orthodox.

Hmm did they change how the Subjugation CB works for the Pope on Naples? I remember it never working for me in previous patches. When I last played as the Pope I stopped the Reformation happening until like 1520 or something.

i was trying to form rome as milan and ofc the most powerful nations in my were Spain and ottomans. Spain literally had 100% of the new world was rediculous so their 500k death stack was in europe still rather than all over the place AND they were allied with portugal the entire game too for some reason

Pretty sure you didn't need to wait for France truce with aragon, as the war target immediately switches to the senior partner in union. Could have called the 3 and then France after starting

@jordanfrancis8047 it does so only at start of war. After war starts it switches to castile. You can avoid many things like that e.g: 1. Avoid hre emperor war when declaring on junior partner that is not in hre when senior is 2. Break alliances of senior partner as their allies might sometimes not join war because they dislike junior partner 3. Call your allies that wouldn't normally fight senior partner. E.g. austria being friendly with poland won't fight them but will If you declare on Lithuania instead. Denmark might like Lithuania so it won't join when you declare war on them, but they dislike poland. So after war starts you can add them to war manually. This way both your allies are helping you, not one or the other

Why not take Corsica in that second Ottoman war? Not with a separate peace, but have the Ottomans have Tunis surrender it. It's not a huge amount of dec that would have given a lot of AE.

As Papal States/KoG, I always culture swap to an Iberian culture to get access to Holy Orders, it just feels wrong to play as the pope and get less out of Catholic mechanics than another faction!
