Candar can be rewritten as "and car" so they have ground transportation locked down. But also, they get traditions that support their navy. So that means the only thing they're missing is air transportation. Go conquer Air as Candar. And anyone who is going to invest in such crazy futuristic technologies like flight is certainly gonna hit some financial roadblocks in their investments... perhaps even a bankruptcy. Byzantium is not endgame tag. So you can form Rúm with them. But Rum doesn't want Byzantium exists so you have to switch to Bulgarian, form Bulgaria. Then convert to Sunni and Turkish to form Rúm. Endgame tags should be in options before starting the game. It should be named as Limited Country Forming as I remember. Forming Byzantium as Ottomans should be easier. People were forming Georgia then Byzantium as Ottomans before end game tags introduced.

You should try to get the "Turkish Delight" achievement that Candar has, and then form Brazil as Candar

Hello red hawk I have been using the subscription service to play the game but now I finally don’t have to thanks to humble! Enjoy the $5 lol

I found interestingly enough - I’ve almost always been able to ally Hungary with Byzantium via improve and scornfully insult a rival. (Even if they don’t rival Hungary which makes it easier). This makes the Ottomans less likely to attack immediately so I just wait for them to do an Anatolian war - then declare on the Ottomans with Albania and the Knights. Doing that I’ve been able to use troops in Constantinople, naval barrage Gelibolu, and storm the fort. Rushing that you basically get the Balkans secured without micro management. (The only way this strategy fails is if the Ottomans ally Tunis - Crimea can also make it tougher but I managed.) This certainly made it take a bit longer but it makes it more manageable for those of us who aren’t quite as good. I can’t claim it works 100% but thought I’d drop this here for those who are struggling with the general strategy.

Why don’t you vassalize all of Epirus? It’s a bit more expensive but it costs just as much dip to annex Epirus and you get a free mountain capital you can use to fight the ottomans. You’ll also get less war exhaustion from occupation

I find it interesting that you start and end the run as a crumbling empire with only a few provinces. Only this time, there might not be any recovering?

I've suggested this in discord before, but for Candar you could form Rum and get Armagnac, Bar, Bourbonnais, Burgundy, and Champagne as subjects for all the booze.

As Candar: Form Rum and destroy every other turkic successor state. Side goal, as their achievement is called turkish delight why not try and conquer the province of Kandy on Sri Lanka.

How to use the humble bundle if you already have the subscription

I recently did a byz run and had the most fun in eu4 in a long time. Ofc ive done regular byz to rome many times but this time it was byz to great britain. Pretty much no cb the irish, sell your provinces from back home, conquer all of the british isles with the help of france and as ideas pick exploration expansion. Get carribean first then run deficit to field armies for mexico, canada, and thirteen colonies to scale with crown colonies. I also culture convereted all the british isles to greek. Got a france pu because they requested heir but it obv backfired for them. Also randomly got cossacks because i took over steppes in america. Goals at the end was remake the british commonwealth with client states plus take back home from the ottos who scaled massively because they allied muscovy from gamestart almost. To avoid diplo relations i tag switched to france with cheating to make them do client states aswell so when i go to war i get like 15+ countries with me. Honestly guys i highly recommend a campaign like this. The start is hard enough plus at the end you are just painting the map mainly because vassal swarm. lategame wars feel like a chore sometimes

Is it really a failure when the goal of the Byzantium video was to eliminate Byzantium as the Ottomans? Sounds like justice for your cursed crimes to me. Also glad for the humble bundle. 20$ was already cheap just to get the 3 DLC I didn't own (Emperor, Leviathan, and oddly Mare Nostrum) but all the extra stuff, like unit and music packs, made it a serious saving.

If what I looked up is accurate Dar means narrow in Turkish and represent in german. (Again sorry if I'm wrong) so maybe narrowly snack your way close to the HRE and if possible become their emperor (assuming that's possible, I don't know the game that well) So candar can dare to represent the HRE
