Great video Steve. Does this camera also take photo snapshots at regular intervals regardless of motion? Just like the Ring stick up battery does. It would be a good feature to know how my driveway is looking in between motion activated recording.

I've been waiting for this review. I'm looking for an camera that beats out my Arlo Ultra but I'm not sure this is able to just yet.

Does the Eufy mount come with a slot in the back to allow it to be strapped on like you have on the pole or are you using a different mount. I know Reolink has the base and supplied straps in case you didn't want to use screws

I luv my Eufy S40 Solo cams with built in solar panel and 600 lumen spot light. Picture quality is also amazing ' Been working Flawlessly!

Unlike many of the reviewers of this product here that have received free units to keep for a review I bought 4 of these along with the solar panels. Your viewers should know that these cameras are seriously flawed in that they sometimes do not record an incident even when it within the field and the camera is set to optimum detection of anything. To compensate for this occasional problem on my front door, and most important camera, I added a Eufy door bell camera. When both didn't record a UPS package delivery I realized just how undependable this camera is as a surveillance system. What good is a system that decides what it wants to record!

can these be moved horizontally on the mounts so that you can look down the side of the wall its installed on? i only seem to see videos where they are only pointed forwards

Hi Steeve, which one would you advise , Arlo pro 3 or this one ?! I saw your both review I dont manage to choose ... the most important for me is the quality and remote accessibility . If it’s Arlo I won’t subscribe, I think one zone is ok, and maybe general notification too ( not sure ) , battery is easy on it , remove an charge .. If Eufy , like the no subscription.. and all features included .. I’m lost ... need to choose fast because we have been burglarized :-/ thank you

I have a hard time comparing cameras. I need a real honest advice between the eufy 2c pro and the Reolink. I liked the arlo but only has human detection if you subscribe.

So I wasn't impressed with the night vision w/ the spot light on either but I have some additional lighting where the camera will be mounted so I'm curious to how that will impact the image, if at all. If not I wonder how it would like without the spot light & just night vision w/ some surrounding lights? The night vision seems pretty crisp. I'm going to buy it on Black Friday & see how it compares to the Arlo Ultra after tweaking it a bit but so far the Ultra seems to still be the better value.

The set up looks easy and sounds easy but I cannot get it to work to save my life. I've spent 5 hours on this I've tried everything putting my phone in airplane mode and walking a quarter of a mile away from the Wi-Fi to decrease the signal and resetting the things several times and holding the sink button while trying to get it to sync. I guess what I'm trying to say is if it works it works but mine is a piece of crap and I'm sending it back tomorrow. There are forums online of people that cannot get them to connect. The only thing I can think of is that I possibly have a firewall? But how do I know how do I check if I have a firewall? The instructions are also very vague they say something about waiting for the red light to turn blue but they don't mention that it flashes or is mine just flashing? Or are they supposed to be flashing and the flashing just not mentioned? It also says to press the sync button when you are voice prompted but is that when the device turns on? Or when the lady first says hello? I'm not sure it's very vague. I'm sure that if it works it works very well but again mine is impossible.

Nice review - and love that you actually have an opinion ... like saying the night color wasn't that great. Looking much forward to at comparison between spotlight cameras. One idea for that test is to see what happens with the video quality if another light source is turned during filming .. so the object gets flooded. In a setting like : Camera sees motion and films Camera recognizes movement as a person/human Smarthome routine turns on (real) spotlights/floodlights Camera keeps on recording

I currently have the Arlo Ultra 2 and our 3 month cloud subscription is ending soon. I have set up a 1TB local storage, but I can only access it when I’m home connected to my WiFi! AU2 is also highly sensitive as it it picks up many motions (cars passing, bikes, bushes blowing when windy, etc.). We have the Eufy 2K doorbell, which we replaced after the Ring, it’s by-far exceeded our expectations with the human notifications and clear 2K images, plus it’s subscription free! That’s why we are looking into this Eufy 2c Pro, which you have done a great review BTW. In your honest opinion, is the Eufy 2c Pro similar or better than Arlo Ultra 2? Is the Eufy 2c Pro worth it? Hey Steve, I was just about to buy this camera after watching your reviews and others, but I've just become aware of a critical security issue where Eufy cameras can be deleted from your home base/have all footage deleted irreversibly. Someone can steal the camera, then hold the reset button for about 5 seconds, which will delete the camera from the app and erase all data and footage, essentially making it useless. There are heaps of people commenting on the Eufy forums about trying to get this rectified since early 2021 with no resolution from Efy. Is this something you can test? If this is true, it basically kills the entire point of having a camera.

Can it be plugged in 24/7 outside?

Is it human detection only during the day? Not during night?

I don’t see why the larger cameras with the larger battery do not have a spotlight fitted as per the compact cameras with the smaller battery.

Great reviews on this one. However can you be able to do a reviews on (eufy cam 2 pro 2k - eufy cam 2c pro) also I'am not sure if you have already. I have the eufy battery doorbell 2, love it although at the moment the USB port on back is meant for just charging the battery doorbell only. Do you know if there any firmware updates to have this USB port for external storage also. Would you suggest any versions of this eufy cameras to which is better quality and longevity as well. I'm in the considering of 2 cameras ( eufy cam 2 pro or eufy cam 2c pro) which do you recommend. Thank you in advance. Ron.

Hi. I’ve been watching your videos for both the EufyCam 2C Pro and Arlo Ultra outdoor cameras. Have you heard if Eufy will be coming out with a 4K HDR camera to compete with the Arlo Ultra? I’d like to go with Eufy because there’s no subscription but the Arlo Ultra is tempting

I've pretty much decided on Eufy 2C Pro based on your reviews. They have been most helpful. One question I have is how is the range of the base station to the cameras. I plan three cameras at each of my entry doors at a max of about 30 feet from a base. Have you done any testing like this? Update: purchased the two camera kit and an extra camera. So far I love this system. I moved the base one floor down from my router. I was concerned since my house is brick and spotty wifi away from my router. So far no problem. I've done some testing of range to three points in and out of my home and the base to camera range seem to be 30-40 ft . Just what I need.

Steve, You are talking about 2C Pro which has 365 battery life and yet the box you are showing is 2C with 180 battery life.

When I click to turn on the light , it displays "preparing to Play" then turn off the light, so there no way to record or view with the light on this junk

I was preparing to buy a Eufy camera after your reviews and doing research of my own until I found out that Eufy is own by a Chinese company called Anker and the software is designed by another Chinese company called Oceanwing. When looking around people are reporting that the Eufy's home base system is frequently sending large amounts of data backs to DNS servers in China. Also there have been numerous successful intrusions into peoples cameras that have been built in China in which people have been able to listen and view other peoples cameras remotely. This makes me worried about privacy issues and possibly security issues. MY question is have you heard or think there are any issues with purchasing and using this Chinese company? The US went to a lot of trouble to remove the Chinese company Huawei and Dahua for this very issue? Sucks because it has everything im looking for and no subscription fee.

Well folks here's something that Eufy doesn't tell you. If you need to change your email address you have to delete all your cameras and your account and start over with the new email address. You can change your password but you cannot change your email with a user name and password.
