She just seems able to hit that one extra great shot that can leave her opponents at a loss as to what to do. And she loves closes matches. Of all the young players, I think Andreescu stands out to me more than anyone.

Can anyone explain what changed in Bouchard's game comparing to 2014 season? To me her groundstrokes seemed to be more effective and powerful. Also, I think she created better angles back then. Or maybe she was just a newcomer and other players learnt her game by now?

A younger compatriot may be a nice stimulant for Bouchard (?) Missed the match, but highlight suggests a good match in which Bouchard played her best over past months. A rare thing, Can vs. Can! Inevitably unlike Andreescu before injury, but still young, plenty of time available for her. She's a very interesting player & very good to watch!

Very good match, I was impressed by how well Genie played even without the variety that I want her to add to her game, like a slice, more drop shots then lob and coming to net more. She still needs to make better use of angles in my opinion especially on the forehand side. I was glad she didn't give up, keep fighting Genie. 💖 Bibi with the nice comeback.
