@@FrenchcoreHardcore Hi, nice to see your response. :) Since I've started learning playing synth 1,5 year ago (after years of only composing music) I can hear and feel what sequence of notes will work best and what part of said sequence is our of place. I can't describe it technically because it's not 100% technical thing, it's more of a vibe thing. The original has the melody progression well thought, it just sits in perfectly. The remix should IMO focus on the sounds, rhythm and several technical aspects EXCEPT the notes sequence. To express it simply: you can't make dissonant jazz out of euphoric frenchcore and expect it to be somehow more uplifting. ;) If it was psycore for example, the Stella Michelson style, not the Cenobite psycore, I'd welcome jazzy reconstruction of the harmonious melody as an interesting change of the mood. Because in psycore the mood is already in the area of intellectual sonic exploration, NOT in the jump&bounce and feel-joyful party mood. When a piece has already the maximum potential possible for inspiring joy (one of the higher feelings, the other being love and gratitude), which is a very good thing for musically-sensitive people (because inner dominant feeling isn't just a mood, it's what literally one emanates, transmits non-verbally to the outside), then making the melody a bit jazzy (in tonal sense) at some point isn't gonna do it any good, it's a step down, not up in the main feature in the piece's character. It's like your girlfriend making boobs 2 sizes smaller without even you asking for it. ;) Jazzy accent where joy-inspiring upliftingness is expected is like na needle sliding off the record right in the middle of the track. It's something in minus, not in plus of the track's intended and expected atmosphere. I think I've even learned something on that topic in music theory AFAIR. I hope I've expressed my thoughts more clearly now. :) I don't intend to argue about the track, I only want to be sure that my observation about the remix is expressed clearly enough. :) After all, I've tested the original and the remix in the mix and the later definitely doesn't fit my plan of an euphoric frenchcore mix. ;) It felt more like for home listening or at the beginning of the set, when the atmosphere isn't too hot yet. After all, your answer is more focused on producers / artists, who would answer your topic.
