Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

Onur A. No they don’t do this to every brand: they released this test a week after the Octavia was unveiled, car journalists haven’t even driven the car yet. And as for calling Škoda special: I haven’t said that they were special, but they have been releasing some good cars lately, boring they’re not, ugly? That’s just your opinion man

Seems like you're watching only Skoda's crash test. Look at bmw, toyota, Mercedes and Audi. They're better than this crap.

When will the euroncap get at pair with the IIHS in the tests those tests to me are obsolete, the Americans does now announced now stricter crash test but looks like the euroncap already haven't reacted to modernity and that the crashes aren't like that but can even crash the 7% of the car front and the car will not protect you, as well as the negative of perform small overlap test since in Europe the people don't crash like that

Francisco Gallardo; fully agree. It doesn’t tell a lot when every car crashed gets a 5 star. Just check how the Volkswagen group cars perform in the IIHS tests. Notably, they only improve where they have been called out: after small overlap driver side, they improved, but only driver side. When IIHS tested passenger side, it was not good again. They don’t really care about safety, just passing the tests. Or in the case of VW, cheat the tests.

@@edipires15 and then the countries which get imported the Europeans cars have to get less secure cars due the lack of care or perhaps the false feeling of superiority that European has over the Americans? Why not standardized the tests the small overlap test is the right now most common crash and the rollover test the following in a world where prefers SUVS over cars

In Italy we have many of them equipped as medical cars, they work in car crashes or for anyone who’s having a stroke or an heart attack

Шкода, какого х...на? Опять при 40-ка % перекрытия, голова водителя (затылком) раскалывается о среднюю стойку, при отскоке от airbag (как в прошлом кузове). Почему не срабатывают боковые шторки? Euro NCAP, а вы что, считаете нормой удар затылком о стойку? как вы ставите 92%

Skoda killers. In a frontal collision, side airbags do not work and the driver hits the back of the head with the back of his head. On Toyota this is not. Even the superba do not work !!! DISLIKE !!!!
