Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Peugeot 308 2022

2 жыл бұрынEuro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.
Additional tests and checks have been done to ensure that the rating also applies to the 308 PHEV.

I expected it to be way safer. Hopefully they will make them safer soon. Altought if you pay extra for the safety it will have a 5 star rating, this one has the standard crash saftey level.

Elle est très sûre mais un peu trop rigide donc le choc est un peu trop violent. Mais au moins en cas d'accidents plus violents, elle se déformera plus. Alors qu'une voiture qui se déforme beaucoup et qui protège beaucoup selon l'euro ncap, sera mauvaise dans des accidents plus violents puisque elle se déformera trop 😊

Stellantis seems to be content with only 4-star ratings for their vehicles which is very disappointing, especially considering much cheaper cars have a 5-star rating

@@hubertwalter1749 well that 4 star would've been 5 stars a few months ago😂 the structure didn't change and it held up well to the impacts. I can guarantee u aren't even in the market for a brand new car right now and u probably don't even drive a car with a center airbag

Stellantis needs to step its game up. Both the 308 and the Opel Astra did not achieve the highest 5 star rating.

@@morizo_blabla The Zoe is a 2013 model, do we do the test with a 2013 Peugeot 208? The new Megane E-Tech has 5 stars (across the range) Stellantis cannot say the same.

It doesnt absorb the energy very well the driver's head dives a pot in the frontal crash also the airbag seems to be harder than expected also electronic systems aren't perfect

Think of it as this way. Many new cars not getting 5 stars after euro Ncap made tests harder. This is good, allows more improvement. Just like most cars got poor or marginal in the iihs new side crash test.

Well, I saw crashtest of my Mondeo MK2 and then my present Peugeot 308 T9 SW and helly I am glad I did not crashed with my Mondeo... The T9 has more less the same safety as this 2022 version.

I wonder why there is such a difference in the pedestrian/cyclist avoidance system between this and the tonale, considering they're now both stellantis and might have similar hardware (beside brakes and tires ofcourse). The tonale should be even havier

you do realise the 4 star rating is because of our active safety features missing like pedestrian safety this does not mean that you in the car I'm less safe

@@odinikita4821 yes, you are correct at this point. But how you gonna explain %76 adult occupant protection? It means you are less safe. This is 2022, we can buy safer cars with lower prices, there are plenty of in the market. So, this is also unacceptable.

@@squeakers27 Euroncap tests is nothing about safety comparing to IIHS small overlap. Most of european cars have not enogh rigidity to survive real crashes at higher speeds. In real world old 307 performs much much much better than any 308 ...

@@vp6087 I would never put my family in an old French car over a new French car. Regulations have changed (Speed, Weight, Location of crash) so that’s why old car that scores 5 stars, is an equivalent to a new car that scored 1 star

DOnt know what people are complaining. Have they seen the demanding tests that many cars are having from 0 stars to 3 stars? Even DS4 is having a 4 stars rate. Side poles tests was amazing, the dummys barely move from the side airbags, children occupants 84% approval, AEB is according to at least the average I have been seeing from the price equivalent cars.

It is when the cheaper VW Polo - based on a 2017 chassis - can still perform 5 stars in 2022, but the wholly new 2022 Peugeot 308 cannot.

DS 4 with the safety pack has 5 stars and all DS4 have a good level of protection for occupants. But for the 308 it's a different story, it only has 4 stars because "For the driver, dummy readings of chest compression indicated a weak level of protection for that part of the body, and protection of the lower leg was marginal."

@@igortchelzoff3736 the only reason why it would get 0/1 or 2 star is only because of non existing safety assists (aka stuff that nobody really cares about) and probably non led headlights.

To me, the issue is the seat, traveling too much forth, back and forth again, making the driver to be squished to the wheel regardless how well airbag deployed. But structure of the car is sturdy: check the A pillar. Here it is better than many other cars in the same class that got 5 stars.

Peugeot 308 1.6 L hybrid 180 HP GT PACK full OPTION cost me 37.500 euro after the discounts and I don't regret one second for me it's OK 4 stars : ))

208'de NCAP'ten dört yıldız almıştı çünkü yaya güvenliğinden puan kırılmıştı. Ama Avrupa'da yılın otomobili seçildi ve geçen sene olduğu gibi şu anda Avrupa'nın en çok satan aracı. Türkler öve öve bitiremedi diyorsunda demek Avrupalı'da anlamıyor bu iştenki 208 aldığı dört yıldıza rağmen Avrupa'nın en çok satan aracı olmuş... NCAP kriterleri her sene değişiyor... Geçen sene girseydi 308 büyük ihtimal 5 yıldız alırdı...

Even an extra airbag can rise the rating to 5 starts so if the crash test shows that the car will not kill you in an impact, then it's good.

oh well its a peugeot but i still don't understand for the rifter like the 3008 is smaller ttan the rifter but it got 5 stars like thats rly strage the 5008 is smaller than the rifter 7 seat but hat one to has 4 stars when the 5008 has 5 and the 208 has 5 tooooooooooooooo so that is rly strange

Au final, une nouvelle 308 qui ne progresse en rien par rapport à la génération précédente : pas plus habitable, pas mieux finie, gamme de motorisations réduite, comportement routier moins incisif, et en guise de cerise sur le gateau pas mieux sécuritaire. En gros, y a que le prix qui a augmenté, en raison de nouveaux éléments de sécurité .. visiblement pas au point. WTF !!

@@eaudesource5516 bah à part l'insonorisation, les écrans et l'hybride y'a pas grand chose qui change le comportement régresse par rapport à l'ancienne et c'est bien dommage. L'habitabilité stagne la sécurité diminue et le prix augmente.
