Euro NCAP Safety Tests of GWM ORA 03 (Funky Cat) 2022 - Best in Class 2022 - Small Family Car

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways
- a far-side impact test, the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated by two dummies in the front.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

What a great result, even safer than the new Kia Niro EV! Those middle airbags are a superb design, one of the best I've seen.

Isn't this the cheap EV I have heard of or some type of cheap car. If so the safety is amazing and even has a centre airbag that is well designed.

The centre airbag is the same design as that in the Audi A3 and SEAT Leon, both tested in 2020

Yes, supposed to come in around (under?) €30k. So not insanely cheap, but better than a VW e-Up or the like. In China it's much cheaper still.

The Chinese started to make quality vehicles, I started to think that Europe would be left behind. It has created a new electric vehicle brand called Togg in Turkey, its first model is a C segment SUV and will go on sale at the end of this year. There is also a CONCEPT sedan model that it participated in the CES fair, and that model will be ready for production by 2024.

It is funny how heavy R&D investments and serious work at the end of the day proves to make safe cars, rather than by the virtue of being "German". The chinese are not stupid. They know they have to make proper, safe vehicles if they want success abroad. That is why I never expected it to get 0 stars; the chinese know such a car would not be able to rid itself of that made in china shit car meme-label, were it to get 0.
