As a philosopher, who was trained by Sir Roger Scruton, Sebastian Morello specialises in how the Western intellectual tradition has shaped our political structures, societies, and cultures. He focuses especially on Plato, Aristotle, the Neoplatonists, Church Fathers, Medieval and Renaissance Schoolmen, conservative philosophers of the modern era, Analytic philosophers, and Neo-Scholastics, whilst engaging with currents in contemporary philosophy.
He has co-authored and delivered numerous courses to engage the public in philosophical and theological questions, reaching thousands of people. In various academic positions, and as a visiting lecturer for summer schools and colloquia, he has trained students from all around the world. He publicly speaks on philosophy, theology, spirituality, history, politics, and general culture.
Author of Conservatism and Grace (Routledge, 2023) and The World as God’s Icon (Angelico Press, 2020), as well as co-authoring books on philosophy, history, liturgy, and education, including From Benedict's Peace to Francis's War (Angelico Press, 2021), Luther and His Progeny (Angelico Press, 2017), and Beyond McDonaldization: Visions of Higher Education (Routledge, 2017).
Sebastian also writes for various magazines and journals, for two of which he is the wine critic. Also Essays Editor of The European Conservative, to which he is also a regular contributor.
