European Garbage Trucks

#garbagetruck I was on vacation in a few countries in Europe recently and was able to record a couple different trucks while over there, this video is a compilation of everything I found. Unfortunately, not a lot of the drivers were super happy about me recording even after I asked for permission, so I only got a couple clips of each truck.
First truck featured is a rear loader collecting curbside cardboard stops on a couple streets in Florence, big thanks to this crew for allowing me to record and directing me to their next streets.
Next up is another rear loader handling commercial trash in Paris near the Eiffel Tower around 5pm. Unfortunately this crew didnt want me recording after just a couple clips so I moved on.
Next truck is another rear load on commercial cardboard at a business in Florence. Very interesting to see the way they handle cardboard here, but in my opinion its super inefficient.
These 2 trucks are tiny rear loaders which are really common around Rome. Not sure why but the majority of these trucks are covered in graffiti.
Last truck in the video is an Italian side loader on communal trash bins along some main streets in Florence, never seen anything like this before so this was super cool to check out.
Big thanks to the driver of the first truck and a couple others in the video that allowed me to record.

That’s an interesting side loader concept, grabbing the container from the top and then when ready to dump, the floor of the container drops out while the container is hovering over the hopper opening and the waste falls in via gravity

Yea it is a unique system, something im not use to seeing for sure. i believe you can even change the position of the arm to grab bins on the left side of the road too.

Great video and that truck econic Mercedes Benz looks like a big mini truck came in town during the day

Cool! It’s cool to see how trash is handled in other countries. Liked seeing the rear loaders swallowing up all the cardboard

Seeing the rear loaders take down piles of cardboard was cool to see but that system seems really inefficient in my opinion.

Great video, European garbage trucks are nice I went to London and I think I saw this kind of truck. Another country with the best garbage trucks that I have seen is Japan. I am also planning a trip to Europe so hopefully I can see the European garbage trucks.

Getting crews in Paris to let you film is virtually impossible. When I was there I actually found a cool ass crew which was awesome. Just followed them for ages. London guys are cool. But that’s a different kind of europe lol

sick! but i always wonder why the hoppers are so tall unlike America

because it‘s simply more efficient as it gives you more room in the hopper which is essential when collecting the dense residential areas. And in case you have to manually load in sth big such as bulk waste, you can just drop down the lifter on most trucks and you have a low loading rim. I really wonder why so many US RLs still have their small as hoppers which they have to cycle every god damn bin wasting so much time. Granted when you have a mix of normal bins and manual bins you have to have a US style hopper but in all other cases such as a mix of normal bins and bags, the European style trucks are much better and time efficient. Coming from a European, no offense you guys make some great FL‘s and SL’s but damn your US style RL’s really suck compared to European ones lol
