The 2024 ELMS Season has finally arrived and there is a lot to discuss! In this video, I will do a season preview on ELMS breaking down the calendar, cars, entries, classes, racing, and much more. Since this is also the first video on ELMS on this channel, I will also go further in detail into the history and understanding of ELMS is as a series.

ELMS has some of the best competition you will ever see in endurance racing. Very fun to watch on YT and engaging with the live chat is a great bonus.

Another fact for this year in ELMS: all lmp2 cars are getting buffed. They now have 580hp from 540hp and are now 20kg lighter so expect some quicker lap times from both AMs and Pros.

ELMS I think it is one of the great categories to start watching endurance races. it is a great category to watch especially for those amateurs who do not have much idea and are just starting to learn about the different endurance categories.

What do you mean by "amateurs"? xd Someone who's never watched any endurance races might as well watch WEC. No matter for how many years you've been watching the races, everyone in front of the tv screens are pretty clueless as to what's going on in the race - only the guys on the pit wall get some idea of what's what.

An interesting fact is that in the ELMS and AsLMS the lmp2 use a different aerodynamic package with more downforce than what they used in the wec and what they use in the imsa and are much faster. For example, pole position in lmp2 in 2023 in spa at wec was obtained by United Autosport #23 with 2:05.979, in elms in 2023 it was obtained by #25 of Algarve Pro Racing with 2:03.564

I can completly vouch for ELMS as a series to follow! It was this championship that got me to take endurance racing more serious after watching F1 again in 2018 and it also happened i was doing some league racing at the time themed after ELMS. When a friend told me that the Spa race was free, i BEGGED to go there (this was during the pandemic so obviously no major access to facilities). I went back to it last year and it was amazing! Fantastic accesibility to fans with the pit- and gridwalk (wich isn't expensive at all!) and of course the atmosphere was on point! (Though that race was a heartbreak as a Nielsen Racing fan 😭).

Which lmp2 team do you think will run in the hypercar and gtp class running as a customer team I think that united autosport could run a Cadillac

I could see United Autosports getting involved in Hypercar one day! I could also see Vector Sport making their way back onto the grid, even after the deal between them and Isotta Fraschini didn’t play out.

So is LeMans 24 still running LMP2? All WEC season entries are at LeMans. Are there LMP2 and GT3 invite categories for Euro, Asian, and IMSA, as well?

Yes. We expect to see 16 LMP2 cars at Le Mans this year. With the majority coming from invites from other endurance racing series such as ELMS.

You didn`t say which model GT3 cars are racing. Is there any Japanese or American or British cars out of the eleven entries, for instance?All you mentioned that new to the series was a Lambo.

It’s all the car brands that were racing last year. Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston Martin. Lamborghini is the new brand.
