Fantastic again, Liz. One of my many problems is that when I say a phrase, it is understood but then the person I am talking to goes into replying at breakneck speed thinking that I can understand them and I am left standing open-mouthed, looking totally confused! Hey ho.

I guess you should tell them to slow down a bit. In addition to knowing common contractions of words. This is a problem in essentially every language, but a problem that'll last longer in stressed timed ones! Good luck.

4:22 do we not need to say the word um/uma or was it pronounced so fast i didnt hear it?
@nomnooom
@nomnooom 8 ай бұрын
It's very brief! There's a little nasal "um" sound after the "está" that connects it with de "dia". It nasalizes the "á" of "está" a bit as well.

@TalktheStreets
@TalktheStreets 25 күн бұрын
Hi! You can respond with "tudo, e você?" but this is quite formal, and sometimes considered a little rude to use the word você - check this video for more on this topic - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ocl9jNmksMvdlmg.htmlsi=K0GEJAqyo0W9L7LO If someone says "então!" you can simply say "tudo bem?"

Oi? In Portugal???? Really??? 🙄 I wonder how that is received if you are not a Brazilian national. I would not try it. No point on being perceived as rude. Brazilian Cultural identity is fine, if you are Brazilian. If you are not Brazilian you might flatter more the Portuguese if you stick to Portuguese regional expressions. Nice video though. Cheers
