Today I’m sharing useful phrases & vocabulary for when you need to have a quick chat with a native speaker and agree on a date & type of appointment. Regarding the week days gender. It is a rather simple rule. Because the week days end in "a" (SegundA-FeirA), the feminine marker in Portuguese, they are feminine. Weekend days end in "O" - SabadO, DomingO - the masculine marker in portuguese. This, they are masculin.

Really useful, thanks Liz - I've got a couple of appointments to make this week, so it should go a bit more smoothly than previously - it's usually a bit messy! (No sound problems for me - worked fine on both android phone and laptop with and without headphones.)

I haven't been on a phone call in a while, but yesterday I've been sending voice notes to my friend and we were speaking to eachother in Portuguese! It was such a nice way to recollect everything I've been learning!! 🌟 As always, great video Liz!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟

Obrigado de novo! Presumably the weekdays are feminine because the word because "feira" is feminine. Is the word "combinar" used in the situations you talked about?

Yes! Combinar is a good verb for setting up dates etc, in particular responding “combinado!” when you have agreed a time and place. Not just for appointments but also meeting friends

We have no idea why this is happening, it works perfectly on all our devices and nothing was different about this video (it was filmed on the same day as others with same equipment!) What device are you using and have you tried using headphones?

I’m sorry, we have no idea why, works perfectly for us and we all have different devices! It was filmed on the same day with the same equipment as other videos that have had no issue! I will try to upload another version next week.

Seems like this is a problem with some people's devices, and not our audio - you should be able to listen with headphones, and we will upload another version at a later date. It is hard for us to tell how to fix it as it works perfectly for us :)

Is my fone or is there a problem with the sound? It sounds like you are talking from the bottom of a tube. I can hear normally the clicks for like and subscribe. As I am at presesnt sat in a hospital sal d espera this would have had perfect timing.

Why are Portuguese people generally so bad in English? Jezus. So lazy. What's going through their minds? Did they miss all of the English music/movies/podcasts? Where are they living?! Just staring at tiles for 40 years. One of the best English conversations I had was with 14 year old scout kids here. Their English was great. 50 year old people, working in the city hall of Saldanha were a nightmare.
