Muito obrigado not only for this video but for all of them. They’re incredibly helpful, and I keep returning to them. A small point in this one that the pronunciation of the English word “pronunciation” actually has a short u in the second syllable, at least in America.

The Heinz ketchup trick is brilliant. Thank you for that look at the pronunciation between past and future to help expose some of the subtle differences in emphasis and sound. Side note, you speak English like a Canadian person - which I find with my Californians. I remember when I was young, and first starting to work full time in Toronto, there was a young woman whose family was of Portuguese descent and she spoke english with a very nasal tone. I now understand why. Obrigado.

I would say the nasal sounds are the hardest to master for a native Spanish speaker. On the other hand, verb conjugation fallows the same pattern as Spanish. I subscribed to your channel after viewing just one video. This is the second one I watch. I have no problem reading Portuguese or understanding what you are saying, even though I have never taken Portuguese lessons. Speaking Portuguese or understanding Portuguese people as they normally talk among themselves is something else. That will require immersion over there or listening to Portuguese conversation several hours a day.

hi :) say pronUnciation, not pronOUnciation, like in the spelling. pronounce and pronunciation second sylable is different. your tips are great btw. just what we need.

One small thing: the "un" in "pronunciation" is pronounced like the "un" in "under."

It's really really hard but its what we need as well to get Portugues. Thank you so much again. I just want to ask one question that we can't say eles vao comer ou eles vao ver? We need to say like eles comerao? If we say vao+inf verb it means its false? and It is just for eles/elas/voces? because we use also vamos ver as you know. It is not correct also? Thanks in advance.

Vão trabalhar is the equivalent to "they are going to work" vs "they will work". Many times you can use both interchangeably, but others you can't.

Why do the infinitive forms of Portuguese verbs sound as if they end with 'D' when pronounced by you and many teachers online. I hear comer as 'comid', fazer as 'fazid' e.t.c.
