Coming back to this one again and again. So much elegance, commitment and yet effortless. So mature and vulnerable. For me Italy hardly ever puts a wrong tune for the competition but this one is the queen mother of them all. Thank you Mia, Rest In Peace

oh yes yes YES. And to be more accurate: This IS a performer!! This is a wonderful melody with cute lyrics but the greatest strength of this epic ballad is Mia herself. She made the absolute best of this song. She makes you not care about the poor staging or the bad styling because you wouldn't notice anything but her anyway. She's absolutely captivating in her genuinely emotional performance, with a perfect touch of prestige, originality and passion and the colour of her voice just gives me shivers. This is definitely the best performance Eurovision has ever seen.

Questa meravigliosa canzone su due anziani che passavano per strada e sul ricordo di una relazione avvenuta anni fa, all'epoca era mancata totalmente alle giurie internazionali. Un vero peccato per una canzone fantastica e per la performance magistrale dell'eccellente Mia Martini. This wonderful song about two elderly people passing by on the street and the remberance of an affair from years ago, was totally missed by the International juries at the time. Such a shame for a fantastic song and marvellous performance by the excellent and much missed Mia Martini.

Someone told that she brought bad luck and ruined her life forever. She was a diamond in a slime. Such a shame on Italy. She died alone on the floor. Nobody can understand how much pain she suffered. @@nacht98 That's a great question.. people treated her as if she was trash.. such a shame. People were jealous of her talent and .. you know how it goes. If you are great, you're destined to be trampled on. I'm truly truly ashamed for them. Mia retired for years because of that and stopped singing. Then came back in 1989 with the force of a lion and kept being successful til her death in 1995. She is now one of Italy's treasures. We all miss her very much. Unfortunately there are also very hypocritical people. Those that cry for her death today are the same people that treated her like shit when she was alive. We lost a gem. No one will EVER be like Mia, artistically and humanly. We now only have her music and live through the memories. But no one will ever pay for what they did to her and that's very sad.

Oh my oh my, this is an absolutely sublime performance, what a voice, what passion, and so poignant now the lady herself passed away. Timeless and in my Top 5 of all time ESC. So she had demons and addictions? So show me a genius without them. Mia Martini- 12 points from me and mine.

Stocksy72 no Demons. Someone spread horrible rumors about her in the early 70s, saying she allegedly brought “bad luck”, as this became so severe that she decided to quit singing in 1982/83 until she was asked again to perform at Sanremo festival in 1989 with Almeno tu nell’universo, which is considered a masterpiece in Italian music. Luckily she enjoyed the success she deserved from 1989 to 1995, the year in which she prematurely died at the age of 47 but it still breaks my heart to think of all the doors that she found suddenly closed. She could have had an extraordinary career if it hadn’t been for someone’s unforgivable stupidity. She has often stated that all of this caused her a severe depression. She shouldn’t have died at such a young age.

The real winner of Eurovision 1992! Wonderful expressive performance, great voice and such a good a-Eurovisional song. Linda Martin is a good singer, but her song was just another boring ballad. Oddly enough, Linda's original surname is Martini, while it isn't Mia's original surname... R.I.P. Mia, Planet Earth misses you. Greetings & love from Israel

There is only one winner every year, it may not be what we personally think the best song, but that's the way it is ;)

In my humble opinion (i am italian) because of the slight melancholy in the voice and the lyrics of Mia, which touches some chords in scandinavian sentitivities. And, of course, because this song is beautiful.

I am glad we won.. But I remember this as a 16 year old.. Amazing..if she had won..No disgrace.. Ireland 2nd in 1990 with a better song.. Bella Italia 4th here with a better, more honest song than 1990.. FB performance.. Italia always underrated in Eurovision.. am Nice Lupo per sempre per Bella Italia.. io sono sempre innamorato con Bella Italia! Tanto Baci IRLANDESI!!

je ne connaissais pas Mia Martini jusqu'à cet Eurovision 1992, je souhaitais quelle sorte la 1ere, mais quelle succès et quel talent dans cette salle ce soir là, .....une chanson que je ré écoute souvent tellement la mélodie et la voix est puissante, bravo, même si vous n’êtes plus de ce monde, vous restez une grande chanteuse que j'aurai aimé découvrir avant...bravissimo

Fa molta impressione leggere tutti questi commenti in inglese, dimostra una volta di più che nessuno è profeta in patria. Mia è stata mandata all'Eurofestival del 1992, questo significa che il festival di Sanremo lo avrebbe vinto lei quell'anno....ma col trucco delle tre carte fecero vincere Barbarossa.... Con questo brano avrebbe dovuto vincere anche l'Eurofestival....Grande Mimì..... hai sempre tutto il nostro Amore ❤❤❤❤🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼

Il ragionamento non sta proprio in piedi. Andare all’Eurovision è un’eventualità che non ha niente a che fare col vincere Sanremo. Casomai è vincere Sanremo che può portare all’Eurovision, ma solo dal 2015. Barbarossa andò all’Eurovision l’anno di Perdere L’amore. Che discorsi stupidi che tocca leggere.

Raw, powerful, moving, alternative and heart-melting. The best Italian entry past 3 decades and my 4th favorite song from the country, what a voice Mia Martini had! It's such a shame she wasted all her talent by falling for the demons, drugs are bad m'kay? I think if Italy didn't win in 1990 they would've snatched it in 1992 with this timeless piece of art, some jury members probably didn't rate them high cause of RAI's car crash hosting previous year.

Toda una Rapsodia, melancólica y emocional como muy pocas, sin ningún tipo de tapujos, con una voz rasgada y poderosa, un piano y una guitarra eléctrica muy acertados y sobre todo una actuación muy profesional y experta de Mia Martini. Calificación: 10/10

Every time Eurovision has been on the television, I remember this performance and have to go back to listen to it. Did she ever record it commercially? I can't find a copy in iTunes, Spotify, etc.
