If you know the text, it makes you feel the meaning deeper, but if you don't, it's powerful in a different way - you can inject it with whatever meaning seems right to you, which may touch you even more than the actual text.

I watched this live in 2007 and I said right away “this is the winner”. I had goosebumps since she started singing until she finished. This lady has superior vocal skills. It’s amazing what she can do with her voice.

Unlike some other winners, it wasn't popular and wasn't played to death, which makes me like it more. Also, it's deeper and more powerful, than most winners.

This song still gives me goosebumps! It is one of my favorite winners ever in spite of I didn't like it when she won. "Molitva" means prayer and it is a love song. It was the last winner who sang in native language until 2017 when Portugal won. I like the fact that you started to watch entries from past years. You will realize that you missed a lot of great performances and singers during all these years and you will become more and more a eurofan.

What I really loved about this one was how they completely let the voice of the singer speak for itself. There was no flashy show, it was simplistic, subtle, symbolic. She captured us completely on her own.

It was great people insisted him to go further back to 2007 and on, bcause initially he seems to have planned reacting only to winners from 2008 on. I recomended him also "Lane moje" from 2004, and told him to search for Serbian and Yugoslav music. I like you, you look nice, keep representing my country like that on youtube :) Pozdrav!

Thank you! You did it! I'm sooooo glad) You know, it was such a great feeling, to listen to the song on the language I've never heard, and still understand a couple. It gave me goosebumps. It's so wonderful , that the word "Molitva" is the same for almost all Slavic languages. And I think almost all Slavs understood the sentence in the end of chorus: "Your name is my only prayer".

That was one of the best nights in my life. I was in the seventh row and had decided it was my number one on 2nd hearing of the promotional video. I remember her at the eurovillage in Helsinki she is short and signed a cd as well as giving people love heart ink pads which I still own. On my way to the arena I saw two Serbian guys carrying their flags and said `Marija's going to win"` They were sort of dumbfounded. I knew it in my gut.

molitva means prayer. I love this song, still listen to it from time to time when I am in the mood for it. Definitely still holds up, but I think if it were to be done now days the staging would have to change up a bit, but none the less still a great song. Also as everyone else has said, please react to Ukraine for 2007, you won't be disappointed.

Oh, we have entered the renegade years of only televoting. I remember how we were side-eyeing Slovenia, in front of the TV that year. For their use of high-tech props, consisting of a few led-lights taped to the palm of Alenka Gotar's hand :D Serbia won ESC on their debut, as an independent country, in 2007. If I'm not mistaken, it has not happened since Switzerland won the first contest in 1956 :)

That's just your opinion :) For many of us, Lasha Tumbai is one of the biggest hits from Eurovision. And if you did some research, you would know that Ukraine was an automatic finalist that year, because of the top 10 result the year before. I admit it wouldn't have done as well as it did if it wasn't from an ex-USSR country, but people obviously liked it.

i find it really refreshing to see your reactions to esc. I have watched a few other americans react to it, not put everyone in the same corner, but most of them tend to be very disrespectul. only caring about the looks of the singer, weirded out by contestant lika donna international and conchita annd in general not having an open mind. thank you for caring about the music, which it ultimately is about.

Great memories for me, it was the first edition I watched live and I totally agreed with the winner. I remember my favorite was Georgia though. That year we had also mesmerizing entries from Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Finland, Macedonia...and of course, epic Ukraine.

Thank you, Marija is one of the best singers still in Serbia, and her mother was great singer of folk music. In Serbia is very important value to be natural, simple, approachable...Dosen't metter what some people talk about us. My respect, and sincere gratitude!

The top 3 in 2007 is very nice! It was also one of the most epic fails from the uk. If you want to see a Joke act totally going wrong, uk 2007 is the way to go :). Could you do Belgium 1980? I know, it’s old but really worth watching!
