Germany's last place wast the most WTF in the whole competition. It was not the worst song of this year and the live show was great. The should definitely have been in top 15.

@@sollig_75 It's a shame because she's got a great voice. Her song 'Shadows' is beautiful and it's lower pitched so her voice is fully supported. All they had to do was bring 'Power' just a little lower pitched and I think she would have qualified

Dilja usually doesn't sing like that. Even I was confused as to why she was singing as if she was trying too hard.

It's a music contest, music should have the priority. On platforms where you can only listen to the audio (Spotify for example) Sweden's song has been streamed more than twice as much as Finland's. It was a fun performance, definitely deserved some votes, but I don't think it deserved to win in a music contest

@@janinebedfordl you can't really quantify "musicality" in a song, however it's not difficult to say that Sweden's song, even though it had a good performance on stage, was more oriented on the music and the vocal power of the singer, while Finland counted more on the choreography and the charisma of the singer. That's not necessarily a bad thing and in fact it resulted in a fun performance, but in a music contest the best music should win.

Käärijä has a relatively weak singing voice but displayed vocal versatility beyond just "good" singing. I think Käärijä should've won, I like that song/performance best but I accept that by the stated jury criteria he would probably never be ranked no.1 by them however I don't really see why some of the other more commercial, musically straightforward, well sung entries were ignored or low ranked by the juries

@@janinebedfordl I accept your opinion, but it's quite hard to say that Kaarija displayed any vocal versatility, as he sometimes struggled to sing the only sung part in the song. About the other entries, I agree there were many other valid ones, but I was just comparing the real winner with the televote winner and tried to understand why one won and the other didn't. However most of the "musical" entries (not all) were voted by the jury only and quite completely ignored by the televote. Since no one of the two can really prevail on the other, the 1st in jury vote and the 2nd in televote (Sweden) won, because Finland was 4th in jury vote (that's not even a bad score)

It occurred every "controversial" year (on the pov of the results), in late 2012 it was decided to use a new voting system because EBU didn't want joke entries like grannies to come second (and yet juries gave them 94 points, not zero lol), then in 2015 they switched to the separate voting sets because Sweden (yeah, again lol) won thanks to the juries but the televote was completely skewed elsewhere. In late 2022 there was the decision of introducing the ROW because of viewers area reduction and eliminated juries from the semifinals because of the six corrupted juries that altered the result, now let's see what they'll bring on (I think nothing because EBU likes too much to decide the winner and eliminating the juries would be brutal for both the integrity of the contest and for EBU who likes Sweden

Guys Kaarija coming 4th was even more than he could have hoped for. The actual system is perfect and the way its presented as well (before 2016 it was so bad and not that intense)

@@Chanelistap it's not about him coming fourth. That is very good! It's about giving one contestant an unbeatable lead so that the public votes has no value at all. That is not the point of eurovision and EBU is probably going to try to fix it somehow by making changes to the jury system.

Many second place songs are better remembered than the 1st place songs. Verka Serducha for example is Eurovision legend and not many people remember who was the 1st that year... So I believe that also Käärijä will be one of those crazy performances that will be remembered better than the winner. :)

Not with THAT performance she didnt. And that is something you must remember. The songs themselves are one element, but the act must perform it optimally in order to really "Deserve" high placement. She didnt execute well at all.

​​@@healspls7372 sorry but Finland's song is a karaoke song, everybody can sing it literally, loreen's actually a structured song with a MEANING. It was the best song this year, at the end it's Eurovision SONG Contest.

Loreen is still getting over three times as many streams as the rest of the performers.

It’s also showing staying power with almost two million streams every day which is exceptional a month after the contest. People want to listen to it. So it is both better and more successful.

Loreen has been streamed 150+ mil on spotify while käärijä has 80. It all depends on where you look and as description said, youtube.

Watch out, the Loreen fans are gonna come over and argue about how it was all justified that she won. But they can't do it without putting down Käärijä.
