This is a memorial video of all the artists who competed in Eurovision Song Contest and passed away. For this video, only the competing artists and band members are included (with a few exceptions).

I did not know about Toto Cutugno 😢 The same year that past away my dad and I found that they had similarities and now even the year of leaving this earthly life. RIP 🙏🫶

It really is a shame that over 200 artists we've seen have since died. But with a contest nearing 70 years old, I guess that's to be expected. To all of them... Thanks for the music Also, if you update this again in the future, it might be interesting to see their cause of death if its publicly known

Here are the causes of death of the Swedish artists: 2:46 Pierre Isaksson, 46, drowned when M/S Estonia sank in the Baltic sea. 4:03 Ted Gärdestad, 41, was hit by a train (suicide) north of Stockholm. 7:09 Monica Zetterlund, 67, died in a fire in her apartment 7:32 Östen Warnebring,71, had a heart attack in Gran Canaria. 9:21 Brita Borg, 83, died in her home on Öland, unknown cause of death, she had previously survived lung cancer, perhaps it came back. 10:23 Ingvar Wixell, 80, unknown cause of death 12:20 Alice Babs, 90, died of Alzeimers. 16:00 Bernt Öst, 86, unknown cause of death, "after a long time of illness" 17:10 Lill-Babs, 80, cancer and heart failure 18:45 Inger Berggren, 85, unknown cause of death, "died peacefully in her sleep". 21:30 Svante Thuresson, 84, unknown cause of death, "after a long time of illness" 24:15 Claes-Göran Hederström, 77, found dead in home, had previous heart issues. 25:42 Lasse Berghagen, 78, passed away October 19th, 2023, heart issues

U.K. 3:07 Alan died in a bus crash Luxembourg 3:28, one died of aids, the other unsure Israel 4:59 died of aids….. (sad story) Latvia 6:52 he died in a car crash. Norway 8:00 died of heart failure North Macedonia 8:13 died in a car crash Latvia 9:51 2003 he died of flu 😮 U.K. 12:49 she died of a brain haemorrhage North Macedonia 17:37 OD Latvia 17:54 he died of cancer. Hungary 21:02 he died of leukaemia U.K. 23:34 Olivia died of cancer

Watching the first part of the video will definitely give you the impression that a lot died young. Out of the 45 (with a known age) that died in the between 1970-1999, 30 was under 60. That's over 66 %. If you watch to the end, you will realize that the majority was over 70 when they died. As a comparison, out of the 69 artist that died between 2020 and now, only 5 were under 60. That's just 7 %. That is of course, because those who died back in 1970-1999, hadn't had time to grow old yet, compared to those who died more recently.

The death of Udo Jürgens hit me hard 😭💔 Not only had I grown up with his music (thanks to my Mom), but she and I also attended what turned out to be his final concert in Zurich in December 2014... What a fantastic performer, songwriter and entertainer! R.I.P. Udo, you will always be missed 😢🙏🏻

Wow - Pierre: In September 1994 he worked as an entertainer on the ship "M/S Estonia", cruising Stockholm and Tallinn. The 28th of September the ship was lost at sea, and over 800 people was killed, among them Pierre Isacsson. Before drowning, he was saving the life of many other passengers.

I tip my hat to you, you did a very good job memoralizing these artists. I don't know if the EBU has a designated design crew for the shows or if the broadcasters do everything, but if the former is true, maybe you should apply for a job there. This is infinetly better than the 317th Måns Zelmarlöv tribute.

May I add some facts for a possible future update @SchlagerLucas? -Christos Lagos (keyboards in Greece 1991 and electric guitar soloist during bridge Greece 1992) born in 1961 and killed in a car accident in 2003 (age 42) -Antonis Tourkogiorgis (the one with the yellow jacket playing the santouri in Greece 1994) born in 18th February 1951 and died in 5th of May 2024 (age 73)

Ah, Franco Battiato. He and the stunningly beautiful Alice should have won Eurovision 1984, if it weren't for the Swedes, and his own, less-than-perfect performance in the first verse. 'I treni di Tozeur' is a beautiful song. Fun fact: the Dutch commentator for the ESC 1984 referred to Alice as 'that miracle of creation', and no doubt was in a lot of trouble with his wife after he got home. He was less flattering about Franco, calling him 'the Italian Woody Allen'.

It was actually that Pilatus of Milli Vanilli, who had performed with the band Wind in 1987. But Fab Morvan, the other member of Milli Vanilli, is still alive.
