4 жыл бұрынThe 60th Eurovision Song Contest was held in May 2015 in the capital of Austria, Vienna, the first time Austria hosted the event since 1967. The right to host the contest came when Conchita Wurst brought home the trophy with her Rise Like A Phoenix from Copenhagen the year before. In order to mark the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Australia was invited to take part in the Grand Final for the very first time.
The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest took place in the Wiener Stadthalle. The the official Eurovision Song Contest logo was refreshed, for the first time since it was launched in 2004.
Building Bridges
The slogan for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest was Building Bridges. The theme artwork featured spheres and wave-shapes, symbolising unity as well as diversity. The colours reflected individualism and at the same time building musical bridges, the diversity of the artists, variety of songs and the diverse audience.
The Grand Final
27 countries competed in the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, the largest number ever. 10 qualifiers from each of the Semi-Finals, the so-called Big Five as well as hosts Austria and special guest Australia all took to the stage.

@@digitool5944 actually Germany got 24 points from the jury and 5 points from the public which, if we use the splitting system they're using in recent years, Germany would've has 29 points. 2015 is the last year that jury vote and televote were combined to give the final vote and so many countries suffered from that system that gave them 0 points.

Blaparty I wouldn’t phrase it like that, in my opinion every year is great and there are always different artists who bring different aspects to Eurovision. For me ballads can be very beautiful and I think 2015 has a lot of them

It is so nice to rewatch the artists visit all those amazing places in my country. I remember how good I felt the night of the contest, and how proud that Austria was part of something so big. I think 2015 was a great Eurovision year, I love the songs so much ❤️

My personal winners were 🇷🇺 Russia and 🇧🇪 Belgium (Polina Gagarina and Loïc Nottet are wonderful performers and have incredible voices) but even when I was happy for Sweden and for Eurovision for being in Stockholm next year, I didn't like the Swedish song so much and also didn't like the fact every single country voted more or less gor the Top 9 and another country from the list. I like the years, like 2014 for example, when the voting is so diverse and different. Anyway it was, as always is, a lovely Eurovision 🏳️🌈 and one of the most emotionals, at least for me. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Danke, Wien!

For me still the best ESC song wise. So many wonderful masterpieces and a perfect mix of ballads and bops. Any of the top 10 songs would probably have been worthy winners, and even some outside top 10 could have easily won. It was just that strong of a year. I wish we have another great year like this..

"Heroes" is still my favorite Eurovision song. All was perfect in this performance. Mans is so cute. Italy and Russia were great too. Deserved second and third places. And Belgium. So many good songs in 2015!

Eurovision 2015 was great. Good quality songs, nice stage and great vibes from the audience and hosts. I especially liked Isreal, Australia, Sweden, Belgium, Italy and Latvia.

Ahh, the memories. The first year I woke up early to watch it live and use up all my votes as SBS kept saying this was a once-off. The excitement to see how well Guy and his song would be received - so much that I wrote down all the names of the countries who voted 12 points Australia, planning to repay it on my trip to Europe. 6 years later Wake up for all semis and the final (I have my alarm already set!), vote until I can no more! (unless I am asleep which happened in 2019). Australia now has Australia decides, which again I vote until I can't. If only they knew what monster they were creating in 2015. This year (2021) will be my tenth to watch since I started in 2010 and I'm still so excited about it!!

My favourite ESC of all times. Best intro (tied with Sweden the year after great ESC too). Many great songs and "building bridges" the perfect slogan to me. That's what I wish for Europe. Get together. Be united. Building bridges. ❤️

One of the best modern Eurovision editions ever. Strong enough top ten that any of those could've been worthy of a spot in the top 5. Plus, plenty of underrated gems as well (Montenegro, Romania, Ireland, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Finland - yes, I stand by that - and Georgia, just to name a few).

This is now 8 years old in 2023, and this is still THE BEST ever production of an Eurovision show. Wien truly showed how much they love the Eurovision song contest, you can tell everyone involved in designing and producing this unbelievable show put their whole heart into it ❤
