I'm a sound tech and I am so impressed by how well that worked. Normally, you'd use a shotgun mic to record sound at a distance while rejecting noise from all other directions. But no, this dude pulled it off with a normal mic.

J’adore ce moment où Slimane se recule pour chanter a capella… il dégage de la force, de l’assurance… à ce moment là je me suis dit « Tu vas calmer tout le monde calmement, et, simplement… » et c’est exactement ce qu’il s’est passé… de manière très simple, très épurée, sans artifice, sa voix s’est élevée de façon sublime. Je ne suis pas une fan de Slimane, ce n’est pas mon genre de musique mais là franchement, j’ai été bluffée, subjuguée et émue. Merci à vous pour ce magnifique moment de pure émotion… et un très grand bravo. Vous méritiez la 1ere place, vous n’avez pas à rougir.

@@me59125 France choose to send mainly French variety, simply, which highlights its language the most, since it is very rare that French songs at Eurovision are not in French. And when they send slightly different artists (for example opera singers, or people who sing in a regional language) , Europe ranks them in the bottom 🤷♀️.

Un grand bravo Slimane, tu as chanté en français dans la langue de ton pays. Tu es le vrai gagnant devant les 3 premiers qui sont des gagnants politiques qui n'a rien à faire à l'eurovision et ailleurs dans les compétitions internationales ou européennes. Tu aurais du être sur le podium, ta voix est magnifique ! (Pas de flonflons, ni de nudité et de représentation ridicule comme la plupart des candidats qui ne chantent pas dans leur langue, qui crient sans paroles et sont déguisés, ridicules). L'eurovision n'est plus ce qu'il était malheureusement ! La France se fait toujours avoir !

He does have backing vocals... but he doesnt rely on them, to cover his voice. Sadly the camera doesnt work most of the time... and theres few things that need to be change... it looks too much cliche and cheesy... After other similar performances like Portugal.... Slimane stage looks cheap and copycat. Aside from that, he does have the best male vocals in this year

J'ai des frissons, je l'écoute en boucle, des émotions, des sentiments, une fierté d'un tel talent, une prestation qui manquait à la France depuis tant d'année à ce concours.. Il n'a peut être pas gagné l'Eurovision mais à sut gagner le cœur de millions de personnes à travers le monde, Européen confondus, Américains, etc, et ça pour moi c'est la plus belle des victoires. I was watching the 2nd semi final without expecting anything but dance and show. Didn't see this coming. My husband was doing sth really noisy and I told him to stop whatever he was doing and let me listen to make sure I wasn't mistaken... Haven't been so moved by a song,a voice ,a performance for ages... Thank God there are such amazing, passionate, unbelievable voices like this!!! I feel like crying everytime I watch him.And the most amazing is that his live performance is even better than the official one. He is a winner whether he wins Eurovision or not, the whole world has heard him and we will never forget him ,he has already won. Respect from Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
