Lyrics
I don't care if you won't
Talk to me
You know I'm not that kind of girl.
And I don't care if you won't
Walk with me
It don't give me such a thrill.
And I don't care about the way you look
You should know I'm not impressed
'Cause there's just one thing
That I'm looking for
And he don't wear a dress.
I need a man...
I need a man...
Baby baby baby
Don't you shave your legs
Don't you double comb your hair
Don't powder puff
Just leave it rough
I like your fingers bare.
When the night comes down
I can turn it round
I can take you anywhere.
I don't need love
Forget that stuff
You know that I don't care
I need a man...
I need a man...
I don't need a heartbreaker
Fifty-faced trouble maker
Two timing time taker
Dirty little money maker
Muscle bound cheap skate
Low down woman hater
Triple crossing double dater
Yella bellied alligator...
I don't care if you won't
Talk to me
You know I'm not that kind of girl.
And I don't care if you won't
Walk with me
It don't give me such a thrill.
And I don't care about the way you look
You should know I'm not impressed
'Cause there's just one thing
That I'm looking for
And he don't wear a dress.

Annie is one of my favorite female singers, I love how she embraces so many different characters and styles all while being so cool, aloof but fascinating. The bonus is her incredible vocal talent that even the Queen of Soul had to capture in a duet. I never understood how so many idolize Madonna and sleep on this incredible woman.

Recently, I watched a clip on here of an event honouring Sting, and she appeared to sing one of his songs, but the introduction had her named as 'one of the best voices .... EVER' - which, made me laugh as it was a tribute to someone else altogether! HA!

The Eurythmics were a sound and vision of the future. There was appreciation for what they did in the 80's and 90's. But who can match the self-knowing, acid-bitter, sarcastic total package here? Every element lines up. They piled such artistry on top of well-crafted music and laser-focused vocals. The beat drives into a frenzy. The lyrics keep hammering home the message. This is the anthem for the man hungry! It's more than art!

Her voice. I can’t. She is one of the best singers of the 80s/90s. Powerhouse.

I don't think there are any people who have more stage presence than Annie Lennox. She owns the room at all times. The only one I can think of that can challenge her is Mari Boine.

I've done this song in drag twice. I'm not pretty as a woman, but this song and "It's Oh so Quiet" by Björk are the two songs I got a big reaction to from the crowd! 😂
