Mark Gilbert’s 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle generates plenty of attention wherever he goes thanks to his EV conversion, which he estimates took him about a 100-days of labor over the course of more than two years. Since the video was originally produced, he's also added a milk jug and motorized flapper that creates a rumble sound effect that's become a viral sensation (see this short: bit.ly/EVmilkjug). So cool!! I got to drive a converted Beetle with an AC50 once and it wasn't nearly as fast as that one. Great stuff! Really well-shot and edited, too. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks Sam. I got such a kick out of getting to drive a stick shift EV. I know gears aren't necessary but shifting and using a clutch is still fun. And I continue to enjoy watching your Honda Beat EV conversion project. I can't wait to see how it turns out. An Energica Beat. A first for sure!
