This is so sad to see what my Caribbean neighbors have to go through how are ever going to start over again I wish them all the success in the future I just hope and pray that nobody has to go through this again ever I am from Trinidad peace and love to everyone

Having a concrete roof is not going to stop a category five hurricane. I pray all these folks get the support they need immediately.

Sorry but there are disadvantages to concrete roofs My concrete roof verandah was leaking and roof man repaired it but there is still leaking In Jamaica the eye of hurricane Gilbert passed over the island ...slow moving...we were battered for over 12 hours during night Many concrete houses esp in hills were flattened

Wow...I am sorry to hear these devastation. As a Vincentian National living in LM Florida I know what hurricane can do.

The man is right concrete roof but be wise and put wood first, then over lay the wooden roof with concrete, doesnt have to be to heavy. Think is any leak from a concrete roof can be expensive depending where you are from, so build roof witb wood first the over lay it with concrete

Not necessarily concrete roof bit the galvanise can be inside with the conceete around
