Hey Evan ! First off thank you ! I’m new to the polishing side of metal ( I do paint correction) Practiced on a wheel today and did the 2 step process. It definitely looks a lot better and shiny but I’m still seeing very light scratches ??? Am I doing something wrong? First step and 2nd step I have it at 3000 rpm’s . Thanks again , Ed

@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is way too fast. Most buffs are rated for 3,500 rpm. Lots of us spin them at 6,000 rpm but it is super dangerous if it blows out. I know guys that lost fingers and broke wrists.

Thank you for the compliment and my reasoning is I use whatever I find works the best. Zephyr makes a fine product but I find other products to get me a better finish. But to each their own. Some other polishers find they get a better finish with other products as well. Every manufacturer makes their products a little different than others. Thank you for watching. Truly appreciate it.

Why do we clean the puff wheel with a metal brush? When do.we know it's time to.clean the puff with it ?

EA Jam the metal helps keep it clean and fresh. Rake it out anytime the buff gets crispy or stiff.

What size grinder do you use? -- 4 1/2 inch or a 7inch/9inch?? And also, how do you get in the circles of the rims??
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing 5 жыл бұрын
Jon Sutton Jr. We use 7” and 9”. 4 “ is way too small and fast. Torque isn’t enough and speed too fast. To do in the holes you need a cone buff or powerball.
