I find it interesting when you have amazing songs like this and to a greater extent, Lost In Paradise, where they are performed so well and have great meaning to their lyrics, but don't gain as much traction as say a new Adele song.

This song is so deep for so many reasons, I've been experiencing the finite of our lives with so many recent losses on my family and friends, for the first time I have felt powerless and completely afraid of what we cannot control in life: death. When Evanescence had dropped the bitter truth and I listened to 'Far from Heaven' I busted into tears, because the words of it were touching me so deep, I couldn't believe that a simple song could do that. I'm glad about that.

She has been getting out there, this year they played and did Jimmy Kimmel, Kelly Clarkson Show, last year they appeared on Metal Hammer, Loudwire, did several collabs with artist in different genres and countries, she did collabs with Ice-T's metal band, Waggakiband from Japan, Halestorm, Bring me the Horizon, Lindsey Stirling... XBOX asked them to do a soundtrack for Gears 5 with a Fleetwood Mac's cover. Rock isn't mainstream but Amy Lee and Evanescence as a band are very well positioned everywhere else. Their new album was #1 in 24 countries, and they have around 8.5M monthly listeners on Spotify... Plus this year and last year they had two different VMA's nominations with their singles Wasted On You and Use My Voice. So yeah, they are still very well positioned in people's mind.

As someone who’s attended both their regular heavy rock concerts and the orchestra shows you’ve mentioned, I can guarantee you were in for a real treat that night. Her vocals were so much more powerful and clear during the Synthesis Tour with the orchestra… and who knows if/when they’ll do another tour like that again. Those Synthesis concerts have been my favorite Evanescence shows that I’ve attended. I definitely recommend you attend one of their regular rock concerts at some point, they’re a wonderful experience as well, and very different… but for sure, what you witnessed that night at the Greek Theatre was absolute magic, and Amy’s vocal delivery doesn’t get any better than that. :)

Amy Lee has a way of beautifully expressing loss, grief and how that is always tangled with your beliefs about death & what may come after. Do we ever really lose people or is there another side where they are waiting. This song express the fresh grief & shock of losing someone. Then there is the line in here song Like You “I’m not grieving for you, I’m coming for you.” still expresses grief, but also the determination & willingness to believe in life after death. Her songs hit you right in the soul & gives voice to emotions that many of us struggle to express.

Please dig into it, now that it's been a while they have a lot of music, their new album "The Bitter Truth" is classic Evanescence hard rock with some metal, symphonic and electronic elements in it but very fresh and new in some ways too... and also 3 years ago, th whole "Synthesis" album is an eargasm experience, they took all the rock drums and riffs down and changed it to electric drums and synth pedals for guitar and synthbass, a theremin plus a 35 piece orchestra which made each song greater and more classical. 10 years ago they released their selftitled album which was another great album from start to finish. So there's a lot of music to discover.

@@xPaLmaaHx oh trust me I have been digging in so deep. I have pretty much heard all of their songs and the songs that Amy covered herself. I have listen to nothing else other than Evanescence for the last couple of years. So yeah all those songs that you said, I have listen to those alot. Especially the Synthesis. Man that is definitely an eargasm for sure. Who knew that her voice would go to goddess level? And I absolutely love the Bitter Truth, especially Far From Heaven. Absolutely love that song.

She recently lost her brother a few years prior to writing the song, and she’s also struggled with her faith, but honestly she’s actually been through a lot over the years ever since she was little when her sister died when she was just six years old. and she had also been through bad relationships both romantic as well as professional, like record companies that were too controlling among other things and I think this song is sort of accumulated out of that. At the very least it’s from her pain as a struggling Christian and her grief losing her brother. Her life has been hell ever since she was little and I couldn’t imagine what that’s been like for her
