On November 29th, 2017 We at Detroit the Gospel Journey had the distinct distinct honor and privilege of sitting down with the Queen of the B3 Hammond, Evangelist Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark as she shared some history, transparent, candid and funny moments from her illustrious solo career and with the legendary Clark Sisters.

Twinkie is a priceless jewel to the body of Christ and the entire world. She is an inspiration behind the sounds and styles of so many artists. The tone, range and power of voice is still unparalleled. This is one of the best interviews of her careers.

I really wish Twinkie would do more interviews like this, I love to hear her being asked different questions that are fun. I just love hearing her speak and giving us an inside glimpse into her genius. But, I know she doesn't like doing interviews.

Excellent interview, Marcel! This amazing woman has influenced multiple generations of musicians (myself included), and has graced us as a living legend. When I began to play for my church at ten years old, my steady musical diet was Richard Smallwood, Thomas Whitfield, and Twinkie Clark. I began to fuse the styles of the three, and that began my journey. Now, I teach gospel music history and performance at a major university where it normally would not have been taught in times past. Thank you Twinkie for all you've done, not just for gospel music, but for music in general.

The one and only Twinkie Clark! She is one of the most humble gospel legends I’ve ever met. There is no one, really, to compare her with. That voice, her ability to mesmerize you on the Hammond B3 organ is phenomenal. I’m so glad I was blessed to be in the presence of her Mother, Dr. Mattie M. Clark, Twinkie, Dorinda, and Jackie. Karen was pregnant with Kiera at the time and unable to come to Jackson, MS. It was a wonderful evening with the Clark Family!

I’ve never worked with Dr. Mattie Moss Clark but I’ve heard stories; did get a chance to meet her and I was able to sing in a workshop with Dr. Twinkie; she is one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met

Great interview. Twinkie need to do a book. I followed your Gospel Career from the late 70”s . I notice you never really talk about the songs and the Record Company that help made the hits for the Clark Sisters. Like Is my living in vain Expect a miracle , Name it and claim it with DJ Rogers also Recorded on Hezekiah Walker Greatful and so many others you’ve been singing them songs over 40 years. And they was some of your hits songs. so you need to write a book.
