Except Tony is lying in Endgame. Steve WAS there. He was at the battle of Wakanda as one of the last lines of defense against Thanos. He gave Tony a phone to call him with, and rather than do so, Tony ran away to space with Strange and Peter and never came back, even after he and Peter rescued Strange. They could have returned to Earth to regroup with the other Avengers so they could fight Thanos as a united force, but they didn't. Tony never should have blamed Steve for that. They most certainly lost, but it's because Tony wasn't there, not because Steve didn't answer the call when it was finally made by Bruce.

Is it just me or is the "Rogers. You'd be ineligible on your asthma alone." scene one of the most iconic things in the MCU? Marks the beginning of a heartbreaking story, and he proves to himself and everyone around him that they're wrong. I get shivers whenever I hear "Rogers". One of my favourite scenes.
