I find coins & I collect coins.
Australia has some of the best looking coins on the planet.
Our standard coins are classics of animal depictions.
Our commemoratives are World class and world leading.
Join me as I noodle through Australian $2 coins looking for our countries coloured commemorative coins, rare coins and coins that can be worth more than face value.
This is an ongoing series of coin hunting where I sort through $2 coins looking for all the commemorative coins issued for circulation since the introduction of the $2 coin in 1988.

Hi Phil, Couple of nice coins in that noodle and you can take as long as you like i chill out with a few ales while you are noodling it's very good for keeping up my fluids as my doctor advised. keep up the GREAT work you put into your site Champ.

Thanks Rez, The U is alluding me too. CUD's are tough on the $2's The biggest I've seen is on the Gold Poppy.

I purchased some real bargains from coin fairs in the UK. I’m not an ebay fan - too many bad experiences 😡. Great to hear you properly through the hunt. 😎🍀💜

Enjoyed the hunt and commentary Phil, great that you picked up the "S" coin for the book and a couple of nice rim cuds, couldn't get any 50c coins yesterday so I grabbed 5 rolls of 20c coins for a nice 2016 changeover and a Northfolk Island Fed coin, nothing else outstanding in the $1 & $2 coins except for 2 x 2022 $2 Aboriginal Elder coins, my first, as always keep up the great work with your channel, your format works well for me. Cheers Peter J 🤗👏👍 ps. just picked up the 2022 NSW State coin and a 2022 Kookaburra from Bullion Now, then I couldn't help myself and purchased the first coin in the series, the 2021 Australia Coat of Arms on eBay, paid a premium, but I had to have it and just now 5 older PNC's, this months budget has well and truly been blown to the "shizenhousen". 🤣🤣🤣

Scored a number of 50c from a friend from NSW firmly QLD was happy to get 2 mambo, 1 Atlants,, 1 Indigous languages, 1 NSW 2001, 1Rams head & 3 change overs.

@@vandiemenadventures Very Nice my friend. I believe that it is really hard to get them in that form. Everyone I have talked to about them have said the Staff have been very strict on the release.

2011 rams head, c stamped eureka stockade,c stamped 2003 Korean war, all for 20dollars.

I look for the A, U, S with correct alignment of the colours. Look on the Web site for them to see how they are pictured. They go in my folder..and others very close go in capsules in a drawer.

I would store coins out of basic interest but since Queen Elizabeth II death it has spark an interest in coins, now I'm very interested. I looked at some coins I put aside 7 years ago & there was a 2012 Red Poppy $2 coin but the paint was very worn off. I do remember seeing a full Red Poppy & 2013 $2 Queen purple coin but it's in my old cupboard and I cannot find it 🤦‍♀️ now coin hunting is my hobby.

Thank you for the ebay advice, next time i go i will be very prepared =) . The day you find a red poppy will be a great day, would you consider starting new book when collect the remaning $2 coins?

Thanks RLJT, Happy to be able to help with some advice. I will start a new book if i find a Red Poppy OR I get enough money in the Red Poppy Fund to buy one for the Collection. I have had a New RAM $2 folder ready for a while to start again once i finish the current book.

Hi Shelly, I'm really struggling to identify that coin. I'm not aware of any $1 coins without the Queen on at least one side. I would need to see a picture of both side to confirm it.

In your book you have saved a face off I think in the 1990 slot so what's the verdict of the face off $2 coins ?

Hi Stephen, I'm unsure of the Term "face off" in relation to the $2 denomination. Can you explain a bit more and i can come back to you on it.

@@PhilFindsCollects I'm not shore why someone would do this to coins ,I did see a 2009 face off on eBay with a ridicules price on it selling as a rare error coin that might explain why this would be happening, I found a 1995 with missing face along side with a 1995 fake counterfeit $2 coin

Ah sadly I haven't found any in the hunts yet. I've had to organise a swap with someone to get a few for my collection. I have no idea if they will even turn up in hunts anytime soon.

Very nice coins but that book is made of PVC and that will destroy your coins PVC has a nasty chemical which leachers out and coats your coins in a sticky residue which will corrode your coins destroying them completely 😱 please don't put a red poppy in that folder that would a absolute tragedy and take your coins out of that thing please 🙏 you have nice collection there please don't continue to destroy your coins as you collect them 😢

Thanks Matthew. I only use these books during the periods of the hunt. When i finished this book I put all of the Coins into capsules. My latest $2 book is one from the RAM and again i will transfer the coins into more storage friendly holders when i am done. Thank you for your concern and your comment.
