Why didn’t he dyno the car with the eventuri intake minus the stage 1 map to show the gains against the stock intake🤔
@EvolveAutomotive5 жыл бұрын
We’re a little pushed for time fitting this project in around a busy workshop so that it’s ready for VMAX on the 23rd of March, so to save some time and since we already have a lot of data on the stock car from when we developed the intake we chose to skip the dyno. Unfortunately the RS3 does not show gains straight away, the car needs to be driven on the road for the ECU to adapt, so this makes the process even longer. We did 100-200kph test it to show the advantage however.
@gavinscott45465 жыл бұрын
I can appreciate a busy workshop but when it comes to data and proof time should be taken to show accurate figures for for us to see if your going to do comparison video, you had time to show eventuri but not time to show stock and for the price of the eventuri intake surely that should have been a priority despite having previous figures that we can’t see.

I know there won’t be much difference until it’s tuned but it’s just want to get an expert opinion. I do plan on tuning it,turbo inlet and currently looking at full exhaust but I’ve only done small mods like K&n drop filter and removed resonators and waiting on the mail for the exhaust valves delete plugs. I do have the sport exhaust with the black optics trim. So if I could mod the stock sport exhaust,even better lol but I wouldn’t mind changing the whole exhaust. Just the price is crazy lol. @EvolveAutomotive5 жыл бұрын
It’s Imran, and we can supply parts for/tune the X5M, you’d have to ask Eventuri why they don’t make an intake for it, from memory it’s a combination of lack of space and smaller potential market.

Nice vids. I’m assuming a custom map would lift the low down power with the new air box fitted? It looks like the remap is suited to the stock airbox more at lower rpm’s like maybe it could do with some more fuel to match the better air flow?

@EvolveAutomotive5 жыл бұрын
We didn’t compare them because other than to see how far we’ve come we don’t feel there’s a real reason to compare across different ECU tunes. But you could compare the dragy times yourself, so it’s 10.08 vs 9.89 vs 7.65 Unsure on that, check the www.eventuri.net website for data on your intake.

Looking at the graphs the new intake seems to have affected the low down torque ?, Seems to be quite a drop in low down torque with the intake. I have found the same with VAG products and intakes the low end torque always seems to suffer. Some say it's due to MAF scaling or air velocity being reduced with the larger diameter intake. What do you think ?, That low down torque would be missed on the road. In fact the stock intake makes as much max toque as the Venturi but lower down the rev range, then looses out higher up. My guess is the stock would 'feel' faster due to that initial punch of torque.
@EvolveAutomotive5 жыл бұрын
Not sure yet something we will spend some time looking into for sure. We didn't see the same reaction on stock map and on the road it's faster too.

Any reason why the eventuri system is all enclosed on the audi but for BMW its 'open' to the engine bay?
@Eventuri5 жыл бұрын
Different cars have different airflow and heat sources. We design each intake for each car, finding what works best for each.
@AM4N185 жыл бұрын
@@Eventuri Ok thanks. Just thought the enclosed design would get colder denser air to the engine rather than the open one which would be taking warmer engine bay air?
@Eventuri5 жыл бұрын
AM4N18 without knowing which car you’re referencing I couldn’t say for sure. In systems that are not sealed it is because the cold air is saturating the area in front of the filter. Sealed systems are usually because there are so many heat sources near by that the intake would be sucking in warm air. These are all things we test during the development process.
@AM4N185 жыл бұрын
@@Eventuri Ah I see, thanks for the explanation it's very interesting. I was only asking generally but I think the M4 system is one that springs to mind in being open. So am I right in thinking for a non closed system the air coming through the grills provides a constant cool area for air to be drawn into your intakes? So you aren't actually sucking hot engine bay air but rather still cold air from the grills even though the system is not enclosed?

YX Yang you have skilfully uncovered our secret. Might as well confess: We (Eventuri) don’t design our “Eventuri” intakes. The truth is that we kidnapped an intake designing goblin some years ago from the land of Airflowdonia. It lives in our cellar and when it produces a good design we reward it by feeding it carbon fibre. If however its designs are rubbish - we feed it fibreglass which it hates. Don’t worry though. We are treating it well and as such the “Free Goblin Alliance” haven’t put too much pressure on us yet.
