In today's video I start working through some outstanding details I've been wanting to get around to for a long time. I add some much needed walling behind the tracks in the scrapyard area and finally get some water effects in the drainage pond.
I've got loads of detail projects I've been wanting to do for ages. Now I have more time look out for more videos where existing scenery is added to or improved.

An extremely relaxing viewing. No problem about waiting for glue to dry, gives time for tea and cake. With all these modern materials and scenic items this side of the hobby becomes really addictive. The water really brought that section alive. Carry on the good work

I am so impressed with your model. I am an ex BR employee ( 1965/2000 ) and drove electric trains on inner suburban london lines and recognise most of everything you have. Its the little bits like the familiar weeds that grow all over or the displaced troughing covers. We always laughed about knowing you were getting nearer to London as the graffitti and rubbish got closer together. Also the extraneous junk laying about near and on the tracks.👍

The Devil is in the Details. I'm not a model railroader but I love watching your vids as they keep me inspired to constantly improve my modeling by paying such close attention to what some might consider inconsequential small detail. The beauty of such details is the life they impart to the project. Outstanding work and a pleasure to see the progress of the model.

I'm not a railway modeller but the scene just takes me back to my days going up and down to Charing Cross from Orpington in the 1970's. Most of the commuters would have their head in their newspapers but I would be fascinated by the little scrap yards and graffiti that flashed by. Keep up the great work...so that I can just watch..

The detail is fantastic. It's just a shame that the model vehicle makers can't pay as much attention to detail and provide a simple button to turn off the tail lights when coupling a loco to a train. In the rail industry (in Britain anyway) a tail light indicates "train complete." A very important part of the operating procedure. Signalmen in the old manual boxes would ALWAYS stop a train if the driver had forgotten to turn off the loco tail lights (or the intermediate tail lights on two coupled Units.) For me, as a former footplate man of 30+ years, it spoils not just Richard's layout but the many other splendid layouts on view around KZfaq.

@@cyberdonblue4413 It bugs me as well I have a few locos that have a switch underneath to turn them off but with DCC it should not be a problem for them to make a switchable function Another idiotic thing is locos with the leading cab light on. No way a driver would do that.
