We finally made it to Everest Base Camp. A feeling of reach achievement and pride. It felt surreal to be up here. Everyone was frenzy with excitement and sheer happiness. I was simply elated gleefully. I stood there staring at the rock with the big words written "Everest Base Camp 5364M" in disbelief that I made it half way to the top of the world. We danced, we sang, we took photos.
The trail was hard, no doubt. From Gorakshep to EBC is about 2 to 3 hours. It took me 4 hours. Jumping over boulders and fighting myself against the symptoms of altitude. But no matter what the challenge, no matter what the suffering, it is truly so hard to explain the sense of wonder and sense of accomplishment you will feel standing more than half way to the top of the world.
