That college is actually not far from where I live. I remember a long time ago when I started college (NOT at Evergreen), I worked nights as a janitor to cover my living expenses. One of the guys I worked with had just finished his degree at Evergreen, and his first job out of school was also working nights as a janitor, for a dollar less than what I got. A degree from that place doesn't go very far.

Stop allowing students to make demands. TELL them what the rules are and they can leave if they do not like them. Students are morons and need educating - all of them. Bridges should be ashamed of himself. If he resigns, that would probably be the bravest thing that he has done in his indecisiveness in this incident. The defunding and dismal state of the college rests squarely on his shoulders in his 19month tenure as president of the college. Evergreen College should be run by true professors who know what they are doing in college administration and hold themselves to real standards.

Just let trades and construction management take overall control of tertiary education institutions. The faculty can then join the leather handed, world building workforce and choose to do their jobs according to standards the industry/institution requires to function, or be unceremoniously fucked off. This slow debasement of houses of learning would not be tolerated in trades and construction, because the effects of that tends to lead to death or disfigurement of humans. I used to know some Evergreen graduates and they bragged about what a great enclave it was for lesbian students. I heard stories about how they would destroy any book by a conservative author in the library. How they would walk 4 abreast and force white males off the path or crash into them. Favorite book: Handmaid's Tale. Favorite movie: Claire de Lune. Favorite past-time: bashing straight white males and anything conservative. That's the education the "students" have been getting at Evergreen. Students can get a perfect rating from the Evergreen "Evaluation" system that is then translated by real universities like the UW as 4.0; totally corrupt. Basically you can 4.0 for being part of fascist clique at Evergreen. These are people that couldn't write a coherent 1 page essay getting the equivalent of a 4.0 because the corrupt faculty hands them out like penny candy. They should have lost their accreditation as 4-year university 30 years ago.

My kids are not going to that college unless Georges Bridges is gone. It appears that he has created a dangerous campus atmosphere.

I don't know why some academics feel compelled to wear bow ties. With the exception of black ties with formal wear, bow ties inevitably make a guy look dorkier.
