если судить по переводу, зто не мечта.американские чуваки пишут есть проблемы с поджигом,сервисным обслуживанием(гарантия 5 лет у них)они так и пишут гавно,но лучше чем миллер и линкольн.

Why no stick welds...? The 255 does stick, so what is the 255 capable of regarding stick...?

The machine was set up at 75 amps but 1/8" (.125) plate requires 125 amps. At 12:49 In the video you can see that the machine is over 100. If these are instructional videos please remind the viewer that you had to turn the machine up to the proper amperage. I saw the caption at 5:15 stating 1 amp per .001" however for those who didn't they are probably wondering what they're doing wrong. Thank you.

Good unit. Very capable for the price. Only serious issue is green display in bright shop or sunlight is unreadable. Had to fab a small blackout screen window to be able to see for settings outside. No replacement part from Everlast. No indication it is just my unit. No adjustment.

Had my 255EXT since 2018. Only really awful problem I've had Is the central green digital screen. Impossible to read settings in bright light or sun. Had to make a shade box viewer to see it. No help from Everlast. Surprised to still see the design in use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Work in a maintenance facility here in Sun Diego, we own Millers and Lincolns, same story as well, I'm always cupping my hand to shade in order to see the screen, they all do it.

Does this unit have mix tig mode (mix dc and ac/dc)?

Yeah, all the EXT Everlast models have MIX TIG (DC half and AC half) for aluminum welding. But Everlast calls it "Advanced Pulse". I've used it a little on my 210EXT and it has a maximum of 10 Hz on Advanced Pulse, since it is kind of a radical switching from AC-to-DC back and forth. I know of another manufacturer that allows its unit only 5 Hz on MIX TIG. It's a pretty potent feature in giving more penetration on aluminum when it's set to 100% on the DC half, i.e., it is then non-reductive in overall amperage, unlike a typical Pulse, which is always reductive in its amperage, ending in an average amperage amperage between the high and low settings. So, the Advanced Pulse feature need not be reductive, which is how I've used it to get more punch with thicker aluminum on my 210 amp Everlast unit.

Can this welder be used without a cooler ?

With a 9, 17 or 26 series torch it can be. Do not use a 18 or 20 series torch without coolant, you will burn up the power cable. The reason is that not only the torch head is cooled on watercooled torches, but the power cable is as well. Because of the cooling the power cable on watercooled torches can be way thinner then actually needed for the given current. Take away the cooling the powercable is to thin for the current, thus heating up.

I would buy this unit in a minute if not for their warranty statement. "The customer is responsible for all shipping costs and insurance associated with items that are covered under warranty " From Florida it can be a 3rd or more of the cost of a new unit if the unit must returned. Just not worth the risk. Nope! Frustrating
