I don't think there is anything wrong with your microphone. I noticed on the last couple of videos that when you use the pipeliner welding hood the sound is terrible when you talk with the hood down. No such problems on your previous videos with your regular auto darkening hood. I think the shape of the pipeliner hood mess up the soundwaves in such a way that your microphone can't cope with them.

Mr tig, I’m looking to get a AC/DC machine, I’m torn between this machine, the200dv with nova foot petal and torch upgrade or the ck worldwide MT200 or I’ve also looked at the Lincoln precision tig 225. I’m not new to tig welding but by no means a pro. But I want something that will last a while. I do most of my work from my home shop where I have the ability to run 240. Just wanted your opinion and preferences between the three thanks.

Uncle Bob, what happened to your usual spot where you used to shoot your videos? Did you move to another place? And can you please make an episode about DC and AC frequencies effects? I.e. when you quit the scale (stack-of-diamonds) zone, when you visually see the pulse- or frequency effect on the welding seam, do you still feel or see a difference when driving it from say 20 to 60 or from 60 to 150 or from 150 to 250 hertz? What would you choose for a thin aluminum? And for a thin stainless? Thick ones? When would you prefer high-frequency over the lower one? When a lower frequency is preferred? And what about mig mondays, did you give them up?

Bob, my customer has the same machine and i welded some aluminum at his shop using his machine. I had the impression that when it ignites the arc on AC it feels like it ignites it on DC, stays there for about a second and than switches to or “turns on” AC .... Does your machine do that too?I only own an everlast mig machine no tigs and i was wondering about ..... a friend of mine has a 185 acdc tig from everlast - it does that too - but not as pronounced .....What does your machine do? Maybe it is supposed to be like that for some reason ....?

I've never done tig before, so can you explain why you need 8 seconds of post-flow? I get the 2 seconds of pre, but 8 seconds seems really long on post.
@ZILAwelds
@ZILAwelds 6 жыл бұрын
When the tungsten is hot ( right after welding) and still glowing - you want to shield the tungsten with agron while it is cooling down and block the ambient air out...if you dont do that - the tungsten will turn black and needs to be re sharpend ...
@tuckerorpin-wilkes2853
@tuckerorpin-wilkes2853 6 жыл бұрын
Not only the tungsten, you also want to keep the post flow going to shield the molten metal while it’s cooling down back into its solid state and cool enough where oxygen won’t contaminate it anymore. 8 seconds is just a tad long for mild steel, but when you get into exotic metals such as titanium, nickel, hastelloy etc. , it is not uncommon to see post flow upwards to about 12-15 seconds. Keep asking questions!
@ZILAwelds
@ZILAwelds 6 жыл бұрын
Tuck it also depends in the amperage you were welding at .... if you never weld over 100 amps than maybe 3sec post flow on steel and 5 sec in stainless can be enough ... if you weld at 200 or 250 amp .... in my experience that 8 sec can be a very good number .... now i dont say that you absolutely need 8 sec - but its a “cheap” insurance. Most guys who i know do not really adjust the post flow every day - its more a thing they set once and than forget about it. And my machine has a digital display - i am set to 7.5 sec as my “go to” setting .... I rather have 3 sec too much post flow than 0.5 sec less than i would have needed and then the grinder comes out and i loose valuable time and weld quality over trying to save a fraction of a cent on shielding gas.

For Tungsten inert gas setting, do you have it set on AC or DC
@Max-ye9xg
@Max-ye9xg 9 ай бұрын
Do you have it set on 2T or 4T are you using the pedal or the stick also you have to adjust the Hertz if you have the Hertz too low it has to be at least 60 increase and decrease and increase Hertz from 60
@Max-ye9xg
@Max-ye9xg 9 ай бұрын
You're probably trying to use the foot pedal and still have to dial the machine to maximum to get the range the foot pedal won't automatically give you a full throttle
@Max-ye9xg
@Max-ye9xg 9 ай бұрын
The foot pedal will operate within a range which is decided by the knob turning it up or down if you turn the knob to 60 it won't go over 60 the foot pedal that is
@Max-ye9xg

I can't really get impressed when the machine does what the knobs say it's going to do. BUT what good is any of it? If you actually understand the purpose of all of these "features" maybe you can produce a video that shows how you use some or all of them to complete a weld that you couldn't do otherwise. Seems to me many of them are either redundant or conflicting with each other. Just my observation. I'm not a professional welder but I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming. Thanks
