I think Dipper could probably be considered the main character over Mabel, but since the show is really all about the relationship between siblings and Mabel gets almost equal screen time, you could definitely argue that they're both the main character.

Yeah I can definitely agree to this. And it's true, they really do get pretty much the same screen time, which is great cause I love Mabel 😅

Dipper was the narrator of the first episode, and his goal is to investigate the mysteries of the area. Mabel's goal is usually just to have fun. So I would definitely argue that Dipper is more of a protagonist for the series. However there are definitely some story lines or even entire episodes that feature Mabel, Stan, Soos, or Wendy more than Dipper.

I still don’t know how “Let’s find some mysterious and likely dangerous creature and show it off” is the FIRST thing that comes to mind but hey! 😂

Fun fact: soos was actually supposed to have a full body leotard on under the question mark suit but Disney said "ew no that's too naked do something else" (bc they're not smart) and Alex Hirsch said "oh okay sure lemme just-" and so soos was left to be cold in his underwear bc Disney thought that was somehow less naked than being fully covered in cloth

Aw, man, I'm sad you had to cut what's one of my favorite jokes in the entire show: "When fighting the gremloblin use water... only as a last resource, as water will make him much scarier? WHO WRITES SENTENCES LIKE THAT!?"
