Neither *needed* to be rolled away on a stretcher, its a requirement that if they think there could have been neck or spinal damage the driver must be carried out on a stretcher to avoid aggravating the injury. Both of them could walk away, but why take the risk?

LT WLOF even if max hadn’t moved in the first place or back, there still wasn’t enough space for the dive bomb... like many cars that day missing the brake point, bc of baku being a street track and the effect it has on brake temps! Even if the car had fitted in that tight space between verstappen and the wall, he would’ve overshot the turn and either cut of verstappen or banged it straight in to the wall! Like di resta said during the broadcast: he overcommitted!
