its so stupid they nerfed ungrim, yes it was a strong army but the build wasn't even as strong as any monster spam besides maybe giants

@@R3GARnator "huge rework" isnt what i would describe it but it is at least a start. Their rune magic definitely helps with their huge disadvantage of not having magic but their roster is still too one-dimensional like the Vampire Counts. That being said im looking forward to their update come july 14th lol

An Engineer or Crossbow LL sounds awesome. With a Vortex starting location as well.

It's low because it is very high armour piercing and because of the insane Red Ruin buff. Pop Ungrim's buffs and he can shoot up to over 1000WS.

@@pappy374 And he still does not do enough damage. There are quite a few monsters in his price range, who are more mobile, cheaper and can kill him 1v1.

​@@Lukashoffmann94 Price range doesn't matter in campaign. In single player he gets so much ward save and resistances from items and his damage is well over 1k. Absolute beast.

@@Lukashoffmann94 ungrim for balance is made to be anti large, he would lose against any dedicated infantry lord/hero but he can kill karl Franz on top of deathclaw 1v1

@@spookyskellyskeleton609 He can still loose a 1v1 against: - Giants - Mammoths - Stegadons - War Sphinxes And Karl Franz only looses a 1v1, if you don't cycle charge, which is the whole point of putting him on Deathclaw. Seriously when was the last time you saw a dwarven LL get enough value to cover his cost?

"cough cough" he literally points out how they operate in battle and none of the dwarven unique items change the lord that much in terms of general performance. This is especially the case for the dwarves since they have access to the forge. Hell some of the unique items never come into play like Grommbindal's Axe requiring you to fight Norsca which you will not see until waaaaaaay later in campaign

Grombrindal is indisputably the best: 1. His ancestor powers, even though they aren't as good lategame, are still overall better than Thorgrim's campaign bonuses (assuming you take advantage of the powerful earlygame ancestor powers). 2. His blue line skills are very powerful, much better than anything Thorgrim does. 3. He is a better fighter than Thorgrim. 4. He has better army effects than Thorgrim. 5. He starts with irondrakes. Irondrakes make almost every earlygame battle easy as hell. 6. All of these things combined mean you can take Black Crag by turn 8 with Grombrindal on any difficulty. If you do that, the rest of the campaign becomes pretty easy. 7. It's easy to get Thorgrim if you start as Grombrindal. It's not easy to get Grombrindal if you start as Thorgrim.

Ahh feels good to be right for once 🙂 obviously campaign will have to be played legendary, however it'll be cool to see the meta in pvp scenarios.

i kinda have to call bullshit about the legendary difficulty claim. Also have to wonder what your unit scale is too. There's not a single melee infantry unit in the game that is considered "amazing" because of legendary modifiers.

​@@zacharyjackson1829 I play on Ultra. Just try yourself, you'll be amazed how well such stack performs. Ungrims's buffs for Slayers are just crazy. P.S. Bladesingers and Sisters of Slaughter are also great on any difficultly when buffed properly.

In vanilla, getting Eight Peaks is not easy without cheese (unless you're on low difficulties). Also, by the time you take it, you are usually surrounded on all sides by Wurrzag and Grimgor. This makes it pretty hard to expand early on. Let's say you take Karak Eight Peaks with Belegar at turn 25. You can take the rest of the province and Black Crag early on (only Black Crag, not the other two settlements in the province). That gives you all the money you need to build them up, and defend them. Until you build them up a bit, it's hard to expand past that. You might not get to expand much more until turn 50. Now, compare it to Karaz-a-Karak: With Grombrindal, you can take Black Crag on turn 8 at any difficulty, without losing Karaz-a-Karak/Pillars of Grungni/Mount Squighorn. You should be able to take out the rest of Grimgor's 'Ardboyz within 5 turns or so. With Grimgor out of the way, Wurrzag can't do shit. By turn 40, you'll just be mopping up minor Greenskin factions, and are almost ready to take on the Skaven. This also means you can take out most of Clan Eshin and Clan Mors before they get to lategame and get any good units. Belegar's start is dogshit by comparison. Once you get past the early game, Belegar's campaign is my favorite. But the incredibly slow start compared to Karaz-a-Karak, and the extra vulnerability compared to Ungrim, makes him the worst of the four.

The main trick in Belegar's campaign is to disband Hammerers because of their crazy upkeep :) I actually prefer to take Black Crag first, then K8P. Black Crag is super easy to defend against 2 greenskins stacks if you have a garrison building.

@@Loj84 the fuck kind of world do you live in where you wipe out Ardboy's and the Bloody Handz within 5 turns? every single one of my campaigns has them confederate the other when either gets weak and Grimgor always has the southern badlands and the area near Imrik already conquered and ready to fight like a damn roach to the bitter end.

The throne is actually embedded with some of the most powerful runes the dwarfs have, in lore, even cannons, magic, the greatest blows are swept aside while on the throne

@@Smarackto Well he fights atop his throne, calling out grudges from the book, his thronebearers are body guards and also fight while carrying it, only once in the history of the dwarfs has a single dwarf failed in his duty to carry the throne in battle. So its worked out pretty well so far, also he he has stepped off the throne to fight on foot

i typically end up also having to deal with the northern orcs too since Ungrim on my campaigns lately seems to just sit in his throne room and not do shit. Then I start to have Vampire counts breathing down my ass if i confederate Zhufbar

I just take out grimgor, rush him.
