An idea for Nemesis my brother once had is make him Dion. Shockwave recovers his corpse and leaves it sitting in his lab because he didn't find an immediate use for it, until Megatron decides he wants an Optimus clone. So Shockwave decides to re-format Dion into a black Optimus clone, and brings him back with dark energon. And Dion, who feels betrayed by Optimus who left him to die, but not Ariel, is fully on board with getting revenge on his "best friend".

Nemesis Prime and Shattered Glass Prime are such common repaints we might have to remind ourselves how each is differently evil.

Scourge is my favourite evil Optimus mainly because of his backstory. He isn't a clone, he isn't something like Optimus from different dimension, they were clever making him a protoform that accidently scanned Optimus. It's just something that very specific to the transformer's universe. He looks like Optimus but he have a very ditinct character, he was a very interesting addition to decepticons.

As far as G1-styled Nemesis Primes go, my favorite one so far is a bio I read for the Siege Nemesis Prime that was a Japan exclusive. He was a random Decepticon taken by Shockwave and subjected to cloning experiments. The experiments caused this Decepticon to forget who he originally was and believe he WAS Optimus Prime. Needless to say, he went crazy very quickly.

Here’s my pitch for an evil Optimus Prime. Instead of being an evil clone or a mirror universe version, he’s a normal Optimus who went to horrific extremes to guarantee peace. He conquers worlds in the name of “liberating” them from the Decepticons. He slaughters any Cybertronian who dares to wear something other than the Autobot badge. He brainwashes his men with revisionist propaganda. And he worships his ancestors to an unhealthy degree, unknowingly having fallen to the same vices that corrupted the past Primes. He is Optimus at his worst. This version of the character would go by “Optimus Praetorius” and look like a blend between IDW Optimus and Beast Wars Neo’s Grand Convoy. Kind of a Roman emperor vibe, if you catch my drift.

Scourge is my favorite 'evil version' because he's not a repaint of RID 2001's Prime. He's his own character and not a 'shadow' or evil clone or whatever. Yes, he's a repaint, but not of the same mold.

To be fair to Dark Side Optimus Prime...Movie Prime has A LOT of darkness in his psyche, so if an Optimus were to have said darkness take physical form. It'd be him.

I think the Clone from A Prime Problem could have been a blueprint for G1 Cartoon Nemesis Prime or even a body the Autobots could have used in the 86 movie to move Primes Spark into.

Alan Tudyk is currently voicing the Joker on Harley Quinn and he’s done a fair number of other villains, too, so a villainous Optimus Prime from him would certainly be interesting. Come to think of it, Diedrich Baker voices Batman on that same Harley Quinn show so Optimus meeting Mandroid in Earthspark is gonna be pretty interesting.

I wish Nemesis Primal had used the universe color scheme. It would’ve been more of a change since Primal is already black.

Universe Nemesis Prime makes the most sense. Copper, black, neon blue highlights, a mammoth mode, the almost exact opposite of an Optimus Prime in our world. Beast mode, savage, stacked with weapons.

I honestly don't mind the idea of Nemesis Prime being a dark side of Optimus Prime because he has a code and if he break that code he knows that side won and something to have in mind he's a soldier and yeah he's the leader but he's a leader in a war so him dealing with a dark side thanks to dealing with the war I feel like that can be interesting

I went to Wal Mart today and I saw a rather interesting reason why not having windows on Transformers packaging is a bad thing. It's interesting because someone either accidentally or intentionally turned Bumblebee movie Ironhide into a homage to his original G1 toy by ripping his head off the ball joint. I've never been so amused and annoyed at the same time.

My evil versions of prime are Optiminus the blue/red inversion of Powermaster prime, very authoritarian. My primal version is the Inhuman. A red skinned tan furred ape, with an affinity for fire that matches his additude.

My personal head cannon for Nemesis prime is that he is a Optimus who has lost hope and been worn down by millions of years of nothing but war and loosing his friends and become twisted by reality and then somehow flung back in time and by the fact he is so twisted, he believes that the good Optimus is wrong to protect the humans, his appearance in the past is at a critical point, where Optimus (good one) finally kills Megatron and the cons become broken and scattered as not all of them believe in Starscream thus the cons are broken up into multiple factions spread throughout the galaxy, so Nemesis goes about uniting them striking the Autobots using his knowledge of their weaknesses and defences, demoralising them and causing them to have doubts in Optimus until the day when the two Primes finally confront one another with the intention of ending the war!! That's pretty much my head cannon for the character, RID Scourge is a separate character to Nemesis in my head cannon.

There's a few I think you missed... or got wrong... I would actually count Motormaster as the first evil Optimus Prime. He doesn't really look like Optimus in robot mode like all the other repaints that would come after him but he does have pretty much the same vehicle mode and the fiction treated him like an Evil counterpart to Optimus Prime. Optimus even some how manages to disguise himself with paint to look like Motormaster even though paint really shouldn't change your entire transformation scheme but lets just ignore that. Motormaster also frequently referred to Optimus as his Autobot counterpart in the cartoon. Motormaster and Optimus Prime were focused on more often than the other Autobots from Masquerade who also share their vehicle modes with the other 4 Stunticons. The Kingdom Nemesis Primal is not the first time that happened. There was an Onyx Primal who was originally intended to be a Predacon version of the Bat Optimus Primal. TM Optimus Primal also had a Predacon repaint though I think that was exclusive to the Beast Wars Metals video game. I can't seem to find any evidence that an actual physical toy ever existed but that game also included the Fox Kids color schemes for various characters and even Botcon exclusive colors for some characters (though they didn't have the retooling of the actual toys) so maybe there was suppose to be a Predacon version of Primal that was planned but never saw release? I kind of personally consider Optimal Megatron to be an evil version of Optimus Primal because he did recreate Primal's Optimal Optimus body from season 3 of Beast Wars but since you're not counting Reverse Convoy and that's kind of the same concept with Megatron just cosplaying as Optimus I guess we can skip that one. RID2001 Scourge was also technically part human... forgive me for spoiling a plot point in a 21 year old cartoon. I should also mention that I don't think it was really anything to do with "Optimus" goodness but just the fact that Scourge and all of the Decepticons were reprogrammed from Autobot protoforms. Just like Beast Wars the Predacons apparently don't have any Protoforms of their own and have to resort to reprogramming stolen Protoforms. But yeah, it kind of goes no where as none of the Decepticons ever pull a Blackarachnia. Scourge came the closest and that's part of what made him such a compelling character that he wasn't just pure evil, he actually had a good side to him, but nothing was ever done with it. Armada Nemesis Prime wasn't the first figure with that name but he was the first to actually appear in fiction. Beast Wars Nemesis Prime technically predates him as a toy but didn't appear in any fiction till much later. Also Armada Nemesis Prime does technically have a Dead Matrix molded into the toy, it's not removeable but it is there. The original version of Optimus also has the same feature where the Matrix is molded in but can not be removed. It is visible in the chest when you fold down his grill. I believer the reason why it's not removable is because the panel it's attached to is too thin for it to still be functional for transformation and have a removable matrix so it had to be molded in as a permanent piece or not be included at all. Anyway... Nemesis Prime appears to be a far more interesting character in the Armada comics than he was in the cartoon series. The comics gave him an actual personality and back story while the cartoon he just shows up out of no where for one episode, is really powerful, but then is revealed to have just been Sideways by the end of the episode and never appears again. The episode is titled Puppet or something like that which implies Sideways was controlling him but his entire body disappears and morphs into Sideways which implies they're actually the same character and nothing explains anything about where Sideways got this power boost from or why he reverts back to his original body at the end of the episode, it's just totally random. Nemesis Prime is a name I really like as a defacto Evil Optimus name though the character seems to get less interesting every time they reuse that name. In Prime he's just a human built Transformer piloted by Silas which I like Silas, I thought he was actually a really interesting a compelling villain for the series but Nemesis Prime was a lot of build up over multiple episodes for something that only appeared in one episode and was never used again. They would later use Breakdown's corpse as life support for Silas after the events of that episode which is the only reason Breakdown was killed off. Breakdown was a much more interesting character who I thought was on the verge of switching sides and joining the Autobots as he had several moments of questioning his allegiance and helping the Autobots but that ended up going no where and they just randomly started giving lines to Dreadwing that I feel were intended for Breakdown and then Knockout randomly out of no where joins the Autobots which again I feel was the logical conclusion to Breakdown's character arc. If they had kept Breakdown alive and used Nemesis Prime as Silas's life support system I think it could have made both characters way more interesting in the end. Movie Nemesis Prime is just Optimus Prime mind controlled by Quintessa. The whole War for Cybertron trilogy just made Nemesis Prime a future version of Optimus Prime who's been corrupted by Unicron which COULD be an interesting concept except Megatron was given an entirely new body when he became Galvatron and Nemesis Prime is just a black repaint. Why didn't Optimus get a new body too? If you're going to give me a Unicron powered Optimus Prime then give me something that actually looks like it's been upgraded with Unicron's power on par with Galvatron, Scourge, and Cyclonus, don't give me a boring repaint of the actual character. The whole thing with Animated Toxitron you actually got backwards. I read the comic recently and Toxitron never pretended to be Optimus Prime. He was playing Optimus Prime in a stage show but he was terrible at it and could never really pass as the real Optimus. He even kept losing his Axe which was a prop replica of Optimus' weapon. That said after Toxitron was arrested and questioned rather than being released Optimus went under cover with the Stunticons as Toxitron. Which is a little bit of an homage to Masquerade except since he repainted himself as Toxitron who actually has the same head design rather than Motormaster who also shares the same mold it's a lot more believable that Optimus could have repainted himself to match. On a re-read it is a bit of a give away when the only time Toxitron shows up with his proper axe weapon is when Optimus is pretending to be him. In every other panel Toxitron is usually holding a toilet plunger or some other weird object cause he's constantly misplacing his axe. It does make sense that Toxitron was originally suppose to be a G2 Laser Rod Optimus Prime repaint because the oil tanker actually works well as a vehicle that would realistically be hauling toxic chemicals around. He could also work as just a repaint of Octane. He doesn't really need to be an Evil Optimus Prime he just needs to have that vehicle mode. Anyway... of all the evil Optimus Primes, Scourge is my favorite in terms of how the character is written. Nemesis Prime I think is the best name. On the opposite side of that coin Scourge is the worst name for an evil Optimus Prime because Scourge is really just a name slap to keep the trade mark on a character that has nothing to do with the original Scourge. Any version of Nemesis Prime where he's just a corrupted Optimus Prime is the worst, I don't like my evil Primes to actually be the real Optimus unless we're talking about Shattered Glass then it's OK. I didn't really talk about design that much but honestly... I really like Optimal Megatron I know you don't even count that one but this is my own personal opinion, I really like that design in general and the fact that Megatron went out of his way to copy that design and corrupt it in his own image is really interesting to me. It's such a simple redesign of an Optimus but I love it. The worst I think is Motormaster because of his more boxy head and the fact that he only really looks like Optimus in vehicle mode a lot of people forget he was even written as an evil Optimus Prime.

At this point shouldn't Scourge just be lumped in with Nemesis...? Like seriously they the same character just one got a name dump place holder until they got the trademark for Nemesis Prime (or whatever is the real story). Also, can we please have Nemesis Prime that's a recurring character...? Why is Car Robots/RID the ONLY show where that's the case?! and finally a video of ailment flip character where Shattered Glass is featured!!! (Finally, seriously Hasbro where is that Toxitron recolour of the new G2 Prime mould? I'm literally not going to buy that mould unless it's recoloured into that bot!)
