The West Links at North Berwick is one of the most enjoyable golf courses you will find anywhere in the world.
No one person designed the West Links. Over the years balls were thrown down and hit over the rumpled land - sandy hollows appeared and holes emerged.

North Berwick is this American's favorite course in the world. A great video highlighting a special place.

N. Berwick, Dornoch, Prestwick - the trio to play along with the current Open venues... then there are about 100 more Scottish courses with quirky, memorable qualities - you could even have a couple of weeks just playing the great Lothian links.

Im from North Berwick and have played this course as a local. It doesn’t get any easier no matter how many times you struggle round. The east course is also a lovely set out. Hope you all enjoy your golf here.

Played this course in 1984...one of 13 courses in 11 days, and it wasn't even on my itinerary, but a business colleague, who I never met before, set up the tee time. It rained cats and dogs, and the wind was howling for the first 4-5 holes, and then it was beautiful. What a thrill to see NB again!

Beautifully done! Visited Muirfield back in 2012... was on a backpacker's budget and opted not to try to play North Berwick. Should have made the trip!

Had the pleasure to play there 8 years ago in early March as one of my first links courses. I felt in love with this kind of pure golfing experience and in the meantime played not only all past and current courses on The Open rota but some other dozens of links courses all over GB&I. This video is a gem and makes me consider coming back again as soon as possible! Thanks guys!

Only played it once. Have a clear memory of the amazing back nine but this video has reminded me of the front nine today. Favourite hole is "Perfection". The one with the wall was bizzarre to play, though I think there is a vaguely similar hole on Royal Aberdeen.

Played this for many years in the open on the 1st sunday in July with my best mate . Sadly he is no longer with us and the comp. isn’t held any more.

Thanks! It helps that I live nearby and I could make a lot of early starts to get good light.... If NB wanted to link from their site then that would be great. Ardfin have embedded it on theirs and then linked to my site which was nice! Thanks again for the nice words.
