In all fairness they put them in a spot we didn't really intend but that was our bad for not communicating where they should go. When they are higher and more forward people who have seen them on our bikes have really liked the style and they actually do work well, just not how they mounted them. It was a new offering and we should have communicated better to them where we feel they should go. When they are in the right spot, they are awesome.

I did my mods a bit differently. I used straight decat from AliExpress, Dominator exhaust from Poland, and Kevxtx O2 and fuel mods. Also bought SAS and cannister removal kit from Rottweiler. And also put a filter on an engine breather hose, disconnected it from the airbox. Also installed K&N air filter and DNA Stage 2 air filter. Like the "ball gag, euro 5 can suck it!" from Whitney!

My first upgrade on my Vitpilen 701 was an Oberon clutch slave (because the stock one went out at about 45 miles) then I put on a set of Oberon bar end mirrors. I love the sound, but being in California, I’d want to keep the Catalytic converter.

As the owner of the Husky 701 Enduro the most significant changes I have made are the Rade Garage air filter that impact response speed and power and a fuel dongle to help in low rev while off-road. The problem with the stock exhaust is mainly the high temp that destroys side bags. the sound? everything sounds ok with ear plugs and music :)...... beyond that two mods, IMHO -there isn't any must.

I have no plans to do any power mods to my 701 as I have other mods that imo take much higher precedence, but I also just genuinely do not feel the need to do any power mods. I feel the stock 701 sumo performs just nicely as it is. It's a lot of money to spend for just some sound and minimal power bump when I have all those quality of life mods I want to still make. I did however still get some stuff from Rottweiler. Got my usb charging port adapter and Vanache bash plate from them.

Great vid! I raaaareley comment on vids but this one gave great info for my Vitpilen 701! I got the arrow cat del. and the whole array of Rotw. dongles. No deceleration pops, great throttle response and with the arrow cat del and my Leo Vince carbon fiber LV-10… the sound is pure acoustic pornography. 😏 Now, I’m curious of what the dynojet pcv would do…? Is it just a track “fine tune” bit or is it a must have to unlock the Huskie’s Pandora’s box?

I might be wrong but I think the bike is still limited to 8500 rpm, and after the initial break-in service the ECM will allow you to go in and change the rpm limiter. It talks about it in the owners manual, not that I own one but its a close as I can get to pretending to own one. 🙂

Sweet build, but those tank side mirrors have got to go! Set aside that their size and shape already limit what can be seen in them, the fact that you’d have to look down towards your knees (taking your eyes completely off the road ahead), and still having the image reduced/limited, makes them next to useless. Only being able to adjust the mirrors using an Allen tool, just adds to their limitations.

Unless I missed it, where are the dyno results? How do we know the engine didn’t lose power from these mods? Seat of the pants or “butt dyno” results are always wrong. KTM knows a thing or two about engines and tuning. Maybe more than an aftermarket supplier giving away free stuff to a Yoo Toober. Always be skeptical in life.
@shakedown4769
@shakedown4769 Жыл бұрын
A visit to a dyno would be great, but what was done here almost certainly resulted in net power gains and undoubtedly increased usable power and throttle response. KTM engineers do know a lot about engines and tuning, I'm sure, and 100% of that knowledge goes into making the bike the best it can be while passing emissions requirements. Pass the test, that's all the bike has to do. Thats THE MOST important thing, because if it doesnt it can't enter the market. That's what leads to things like restricted exhaust flow, lean fuel maps, etc. The aftermarket is freed from such concerns. And always be skeptical, but not rude. Never rude.
