ah... but not correct. Returning a creature IS the cost... which is why you can do some INSANE shenanigans with Ninjutsu... For example in Pauper... you can return multiple creatures to hand with only one ninja... this actually becomes super relevant for recursive value on things like Spellstutter Sprite... you can return 2 unblocked Spellstutters with only 1 ninja in hand.@@liammclin5722

Counter spell is a 2 blue mana spell that is usually cast on the 2nd or 3rd turn. The average mana value of the target of the counter is 2.5 by this logic. So 2.5 divided by 2 is equal to 1.25 or 3.25. Since these aren't whole numbers we have to round down to 3. So counter spell is technically a lightning bolt.

Which if no cards are lightning bolts, then we need to reevaluate what exactly is considered a lightning bolt, meaning that lightning bolt is once again a lightning bolt, and we can then use that basis to evaluate other cards to see if they are also lightning bolts

My favorite Lightning Bolt is Worldspine Wurm. It’s 11 mana, but it’s a 15/15, so when I hit my opponent with it, that’s 15 life. Then my opponent plays a removal spell, and between the removal card and its mana cost, that’s like 3 life’s worth. Then, I get 3 5/5 tokens, and I attack with them, so that’s a total of 33 life, 11-mana, 33 life, it’s basically just bolting my opponent 11 times

So if Lightning Bolt is only worth 2 life, it’s a 1 mana spell that takes away 2 life, which is a safe rate to print in standard. Therefore Bolt is perfectly fine to print into standard.

I lost 3 minutes and 46 seconds of my life watching this. Since 4 is less than 5, the 3min-46sec rounds down to 3 minutes and we don't round the 6 seconds because double-rounding is sus. So we rounded down to 3 minutes of my life lost watching this. This means I lost 3 life for 1 click which is worth 1 mana when converted. In summary, I came here and lost 3 life for 1 mana which makes this video a Lightning Bolt 👀
