There was no Best Visual Effects award at the Oscars in 1974,but there was two films who won the award in 1977.

Both are fantastic. E.T. had to make that animatronic be a completely believable main character for the entire movie though.

Nice idea for a video but not by using the worst copies of the films you could find not to mention the blurry clips don't even demonstrate the special effects in some cases.

Not all older films get digitally remastered. Some of these films may not have been re-released since the 1980s when they were released on VHS videocassettes.

Sorry butr almost all of them have HD releases. Just about all of these clips are worse than VHS copies...

Cadê os Brasileiros aqui...mais uma injustiça com o clássico O Exorcista...o Oscar de 74 não teve a premiação de efeitos especiais, pq? Provavelmente para sabotar mais uma vitória certa para o Exorcista q na quelé ano foi o melhor filme do ano. A academia sabe disso mas nunca quis admitir. O exorcista era pra ter vencido no minimo em 8 categorias...FILME, DIRETOR, ATRIZ COADJUVANTE, ROTEIRO, SOM, EFEITOS VISUAIS, MAQUIAGEM e MONTAGEM. ...o ano da injustiça.

a maior injustiça pra mim é em 1983, o clássico terror sci fi ENIGMA DE OUTRO MUNDO que definitivamente tem efeitos impressionantes do corpo do alien se distorcendo e mudando de forma, perdendo pra esse LIXO superestimado que é o ET que é basicamente só um bonequinho de borracha andando pra la e pra ca
