Do the things you do now count as immoral as what’s commonly accepted changes and you run afoul of the morality two hundred years hence? Only a very few moral principles can be considered universal- and many moral principles are such because you’ve accepted them. Are you moral by Muslim standards? Are you immoral if you’re not? Do you condemn honor killings which are allowed by Islam? If not, does that mean all Muslims are immoral to accept killing others in an honor killing, for apostasy, for insulting Mohammed? Gets a little trickier once we go past the blanket statements. For these reasons as others, the most fair system of judging the past is to go by the morality of the culture and era involved.
