There is one reference you missed. When Sonic pushes Tails off screen, you can hear the death sound. When the shot changes, Tails appears from above, just like in Sonic 2!

@@offandsphere6788 Believe it or not but there are kids who are stupid to hide in a Tumble Dryers and it happens that the dryer starts with the kid inside. You can find some news report about kids dying in them and horrible people that kill cats by putting them in the dryers. If I got my hands on those people then they would get a ride in a dryer! People like that make me mad!

But Dr. Wily teamed up with him instead in the Archie (, Betty & Veronica, Jughead, Reggie Mantle, Chwrly Blossom, Modern Sonic and Regular MegaMan) Comics. Welp, even I have to admit, that DEATH BATTLE! could actually well-handle a Sonic & MegaMan crossover (which also had depictions of both Archie Modern Sonic and Archie MegaMan disregarding the exposure of the far-more-under-popular Archie MegaMan X Comics) which really feels like something since Peach vs. Zelda (featuring ScrewAttack being biased by making Princess Zelda look useless towards Princess Peach whom they overestimated the power of, even when Princess Peach was portrayed as sporty and less pessimistic in the Mario Sports games). Speaking of DEATH BATTLE!, please, ScrewAttack! Do "Waluigi vs. Rouge", "Buzz Lightyear vs. Puss in Boots (Pixar vs. DreamWorks)", BATTLE ROYALE!s of Your Favourite Martian, Super Monkey Ball, The Incredibles, the Chaotix and Big Hero 6, the Ghost Gang (Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde) and hell, maybe even "Princess Daisy vs. Pac-Man (Mario vs. Pac-Man World), speaking of a mostly underrated franchise like Pac-Man!!!

References NICKtendo forgot: - When we first see Boxman, he emphasizes the word "Promotion" while wagging his finger like Robotnik in Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog. - When Sonic says "Don't be weird, Tails" and shoves him off screen, you hear the classic death sound effect. In addition to that being a joke for tone, the very next shot shows Tails re-enter the frame from above just like he does in the classic games when he does or falls too far behind off-screen. - When K.O. crashes through the loop and smashes into the wall in numerous pieces, it's like when the robots are blown into pieces all over the wall in the opening of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog (shortly before being painted over because they spell out the name "SONIC") There are other similar moments like this in Sonic's history as well though. - When Sonic race/fights Metal K.O., the environment is a reference to Chemical Plant as stated (Tho not showing an example of the multi-directioned tubes they zipped through), but also the Sonic vs Metal animated clip in the credits of Sonic CD (also vaguely mentioned). But it also references the early segment of the opening to Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog where Sonic runs around loops and half pipes. Also, I think he says "Gotta speed, keed' in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and "Gotta light speed, keed" in this episode. I'm not sure what NICK said the quote was, but "keed" is supposed to be like "kid" if it rhymed with "speed".

It always makes me happy when there's a lot of obvious love and care put into a crossover like this. It also makes me happy that KO didn't get completely overshadowed, as that sometimes happens in a crossover. Both parties were equally represented, and it felt like a genuine meeting between the two.

@K-Dog Adventures It's from an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog episode actually, but not that word specifically, Robotnick said "Snooping as usual I see" in that episode but in a weird way that made someone think of removing "snoo" and "usual I see" and connect "ping" to "as" to create an everlasting meme born from a KZfaq poop. I explained way too much for a simple meme xD

You can say the fangs were a Sonic Adventure reference, but real hedgehogs do have fangs.

Banana Man yeah...at least for me. The show is based off many anime and video games (especially dragon Ball and sonic) It involves a kid who wants to be a hero like those he admires so he works at a bodega. It's silly but a fun journey. Basically the show is a combination of the Creator's childhood

It’s funny, even though I don’t consider myself a hardcore Sonic fan, I’ve counted at least a dozen of references in the episode. I asked myself: “Why do I know these things?” I’ve then realized that Sonic is pretty much one of the many icons I grew up with. From the countless episodes of Sonic X and The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog I used to watch, to the Sonic Mega Collection I used to play countless hours on GameCube, to a random NYCC Sonic panel I ended up going to a couple of years ago just because I had nothing else better to do when I was there at the time. Even if don’t consider myself a huge fan, someway/somehow that blue hedgehog would always come back to me.

The creator of ok ko is obviously a hardcore sonic fans because some of the background characters have the design of sonic characters. I remember seeing a character with the shows of sonic, the heart chest piece of rouge, and the dress of Amy. But I’m pretty any character can use Amy’s dress sense it’s very plain

I believe you missed one, son. When Sonic shoves Tails out of the way, you hear the death sound from the genesis, and Tails flies back into the scene rather than just walking back; a reference to Tails dying in Sonic 2 in which he'd always fly down from the screen to rejoin Sonic.

I mean the fight between Sonic and Metal KO almost looked like it could be a clip from a modern cartoon of Sonic that already looked better than Sonic Boom. Normally I don't like the over saturation of the cheesy lazy look of modern cartoons lately, but for Sonic it actually looked pretty good. Like some of the animation actually looked cool and exciting too. And what made it weirder is that it was their modern designs when I'd only ever seen animated as an anime or in CGI to look like the game artwork.

It is a shame that OK KO is going to be ending soon. Because the show was very neglected by cartoon network, and when the show did start airing new episodes again. They only gave us Halloween, Christmas, Crossover episodes or the whole new episode an hour thing. and with the news that the show would be ending soon, cartoon network only now started to air new episodes every Sunday to get the series done and over with

The thing I like most is how the bad guys (I've never seen ok ko until now) were like the SSSSS squad from AoStH as well as I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG! At the end. And the Sonic sez that blatantly rips off the one in lovesick Sonic. Man, there is just so much AoStH references.

Before i watch this, i just wanted to say, when he said "there can be only one little buddy" and tried to kill himself, that was a reference too the 1999 sonic movie when robo sonic killed himself and said "there can only be one sonic..."

A neat detail a lot of people dont notice is that when the titlecard fades in you can see that it has a Blue fade in and out which is based on the original Sonic Genesis games title screen fade ins. Possibly just how the genesis pulls off fading

There's also a bit at the start of the episode in which Tails is jealous of KO and Sonic tells him not to be weird and as he pushes Tails off screen, the death sound from the classic games is heard and in the next scene Tails can be seen flying in. As someone who had never watched OK K.O but a massive fan of Sonic I decided I had to watch it and was not disappointed. They did a fantastic job with the characters and how I see / remember them and this video is just as good. I caught pretty much all of the same references you did but I didn't notice the weight one towards the end. Seems like I need to read the comics instead of focusing on the games and TV shows. Zonefire 15 In case you never got briefed, Shard is the initial take on Metal Sonic from the Archie Comics. He started out as generic robotic minion who looked a lot like Sonic and later got upgraded and fitted with a Power Gem. With its power, he gained sentience and became far stronger than Sonic as Mecha Sonic 2.0, challenging Sonic and Tails to a final battle on a volcano. Seeing Sonic and Tails selfless risk themselves for one another as the volcano began to erupt (despite all logic and survival instinct; they still had every hope of surviving the volcano and winning the fight), Metal Sonic began to grasp humanity, empathy, and emotions from their sacrifices and reformed. In his change of heart, the enhanced Mecha Sonic gave his life to keep Sonic and Tails alive before basically being forgotten by the comic for about 200 issues. In late-run storyline, OG Metal Sonic’s (Robotnik and Eggman, yes they’re separate characters here, decided to just make dime-a-dozen Metal Sonics specifically made to compete with only Sonic... only to get destroyed with increasing ease on a regular basis) fossilized remains and Power Gem were later found from his volcano grave. His old body was restored and upgraded while his consciousness lived on and developed significantly via the Power Gem that powered him. Renaming himself Shard the Metal Sonic, the original Metal Sonic has since been on the side of good to atone for his time as Robotnik Prime’s (multiversal shenanigans, long story) minion... until Eggman made an actually competent Metal Sonic with adaptive learning and limited free will. The newest Metal Sonic killed him in a straight fight and then the canon got rebooted, taking an assload of comics-original characters out of the picture entirely.
