@@gabeellis67 Unless the chinstrap is choking them, do not even touch their helmet. Do not prop their head up, do not turn their head to the side, do not sit them up. Sometimes you may come up on what you and the rider believe to be a minor incident, only to find out they have a spinal injury after you break their freaking neck trying to make them marginally more comfortable. If the rider is unconscious, it may be appropriate to undo any tight clothing or chinstrap, but personally I would wait until there is someone there who knows what they're doing to chance that either.

MD/Trauma Doc here: 1st. You call or designate someone to call for emergency help ASAP! DO NOT MOVE AN Injured persons helmet/neck/ body or anything really. Converting an injured person into a spinal cord injured person is horrible & you'll never live it down. More than likely the helmet will not choke them. Talk calmly if you can, keep the person as calm as you can, ask them to be still, "try" not let them move or rise/ lift up if possible. Once EMT/paramedics etc. get's there on the scene - let them handle it - period. Pray.

After I started to wear a helmet myself, I noticed I was able to push myself to ride faster and hit more features. In addition to a helmet keeping you safe, a helmet also instills a bit of confidence into your riding as you know when and if you fall, you will be able to get back up. Safe Riding Boys!

Just came across your channel recently and some of these older videos are popping up. Glad to see your friend was alright. It's crazy to think that 25 years ago when I was boarding and skiing a whole lot, helmets weren't even really a thing yet. On a bike, always a helmet, but on the snow, never. Took some ridiculous falls and just consider myself extremely lucky. With all we know these days, there is absolutely no reason not to be wearing one.

This is why you bring a whistle. Easiest way to get safety’s attention is to start makin noise. Three shorts tweets and a wave

I remember growing up. nobody wore helmets. There was a stigma with people not wearing them. I can't say that I didn't wear one, because either didn't. Now, it's hard to find someone who doesn't wear one. Thank God for that. I will never consider not wearing one. Keep shredding people!!

Hit a tree in the glades March last season at 15-20 mph. Separated my ac joint but sure glad I was wearing my helmet b.c that thing has a fat dent that would have been my skull.

I was tubing when I was a kid and I hit my head on someone else's head at the bottom of the hill. I was in and out of consciousness for a while, and had to get airlifted. It was a serious injury but I was okay after a few months of recovery and no permanent damage. Thank God.

So step-ons are dangerous considered as dangerous then ? Let me explain: in case of lower bone injury can you remove the board gently & as easily as with normal bindings ?

Used to cross country ski for a few years, then switched to downhill skiing. My first time resulted in 6 broken and bruised ribs on my right side. Had some leg and arm pain too. Lucky to be all good now, since I wasn't even wearing a helmet. Keep those shields over your brain!

Fun fact the first few times I went snowboarding I didn't have a helmet... needless to say I eventually caught a toe side edge and scorpioned, board edge smacked the back of me head and cut my scalp up a bit.. I wear a helmet always now!!

I had TWO snowboards stolen, one off the truck, the other from the rack in front of the restaurant . It’s kind of like ,”come on it’s expensive to be here, work hard for my gear, then just take it”. Very heartbreaking! Thrifting it this year. POS!! Lock your stuff up!! I can’t believe you guys are able to just drop your book bags to the side and nobody messes with them.

the first thing im gonna say is that i know that this is a serous matter, and i am sorry that you lost a snowboarder. the second thing that i want to say with that out of the way is that i found the joke of "sleeping on the mountain" relativley funny, and i hope your friend gets better.

My helmet makes my head so warm especially with my ear pads, i dont even have to wear anything besides the helmet. I saw my friends sister last season slip off a lift and crack the whole back of her helmet, was very scary to think if she wasnt wearing it
