Spider-Man: No Way Home is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Jon Watts, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans. In the film, Parker asks Dr. Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch) to help make his identity as Spider-Man a secret again with magic, which leads to the multiverse breaking open and allowing supervillains from alternate realities to enter Parker's universe.
A third MCU Spider-Man film was planned as early as 2017, during production on Homecoming. By August 2019, negotiations between Sony and Marvel Studios to alter their deal-in which they produce the Spider-Man films together-ended with Marvel Studios leaving the project; however, a negative fan reaction led to a new deal between the two companies a month later. Watts, McKenna, Sommers, and Holland were set to return at that time. Filming began in October 2020 in New York City, before moving to Atlanta later that month. During filming, Foxx and Molina were revealed to be appearing in the film, reprising characters from past Spider-Man film series, with more past actors and the multiverse concept of the film revealed later. The title was revealed in February 2021, before filming wrapped at the end of March.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 17, 2021, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. A fourth Spider-Man film is in development.

The white on the eyes are too big. Makes it look goofy in some shots imo. If the black rims were thicker, it'd be much higher for me.

My only two issues with the MCU suits is how small the symbol usually is, and how the webbing isn't noticeable (it doesn't even need to be raised, just a solid black and it would look perfect to me)

I 100% agree with that, literally my only issue with the suit is the spider on the chest, I wish it was the iconic Spider that Peter has when he uses the classic suit on the comics, tv shows and the videogames and also that it isin't as small, a little bit bigger can work, as for the webbing I personally don't have a problem, I think it's a nice design choice that I liked it a lot, but I do hope that the next main Spider-man suit for Tom's college trilogy has raised webbing

I absolutely love the small spider logo from the comics, the MCUs spider logo screams techy spider suit when I just want a classic fabric and web shooters.

The TASM 2 suit has a completely different look because Gwen made it for him in the TASM 2 Prelude comic. I absolutely love that addition and explanation. The TASM 2 suit is by far my favorite Spidey suit of all time. The TASM suit is my second favorite. Neither of these suits have any flaws for me personally. I have seen an edit of the TASM suit that makes it red and black and it looks so SO good. But I still prefer how it looks in the film by just a little bit.

I didn't know about the prelude comic, that's a nice addition. But nevertheless I reallyyyy don't like that suit. The color red or perhaps even the fabric itself completely ruins it for me. It's just a weird, shiny shade of red. I like the red in the homecoming suit better.

For me it’s gotta be the TASM2 suit. The colours pop out the most. It’s not that busy. The gorgeous widened eyes. The bad ass logo. Lean arms and legs with a big middle. Just like Andrew’s build. The outter lines just look better. And the way it looks in the movie pops out. The CGI looks fantastic, and theirs detail that makes out look like a real costume m. While the MCU suits are great. The CGI shots of them look really bad. Theirs no lines or muscle movement in the suit. Making it look lifeless. And the Tobey suit is iconic, but the colours don’t really pop out.

Really like the Civil War suit a bit more than the Homecoming one. I feel the blue complements the black sections more, while in homecoming it sometimes looks a bit tiel imo.

Same. Spidey looks best in dark blue as opposed to baby blue, and I'm a sucker for that shinier material too. I also just really don't like the all-cotton look of the homecoming suit, makes it look really cheap.

Completely agree, I hate how fake the mcu suits look. It doesn't feel like im watching spider-man, it feels like I'm watching a cgi puppet move around. If the stark suit had raised webbing, a darker tone of blue, and was a little more loose (with wrinkles and stuff like the TASM ones so it looks more real) it could be the best suit.

I actually love the variety of the mcu suits, a fairly big aspect of Spider-Man is he will absolutely alter or straight up create a suit to handle a specific situation, which they didn't really ever do in raimi or webb's films besides like Peter magnetizing his web shooters in ASM2 but thats not really a suit alteration.

Something that's really annoying is that the blue areas on the Homecoming suit have more noticeable lines. You know, where they're not even supposed to be.

I feel the opposite tbh; what I hate about the MCU suits is that NONE of them are actually from the comics in terms of designs, they're just new random ones made to sell toys lol. Iron Spider looks ugly compared to the comic version IMO.

@@commanderspyder5432 The baseline design is Ditko and that's all that matters, to me. the MCU Iron Spider though is one that kind of grew on me. I preffer it to the comic one. Spider-man should have webbing.

I loved the amazing Spider-Man 2 suit the symbol is big enough so you can see it and eyes are big enough so you can see out of them it’s a bit baggy but not too baggy the red and blue are dark but not to dark to make it look black or anything like that but that the reason why I love that suit and always will it just screams Spider-Man.

I was with you until you ranked the MCU suits above TASM2. Yeah it's a bunch of good ideas but the execution was not there for me. Raimi and TASM2 are my top 2 in no particular order

@@cityescape2031 nah man. Raised webbing is amazing. But I Wouldn't mind it if it wasn't raised. Can still look great. But unfortunately you can barely see it on the mcu suit.

@@herrera728 not as beautiful as TASM1 imo, love how it shines/reflects light at night and the colors are really bold. Also the most athletic looking suit spidey has had, allows for a very strong silhouette in whatever pose he strikes. It's a really good breath of fresh air and just looks awesome in motion.

I absolutely love the Upgraded suit! I like how when it comes to the main Spider-Man suits Peter wears in the MCU, the colors go from light blue from his first suit (homemade), darker blue from the Stark suit, blackish blue from the Iron Spider, to solid black for the Upgraded suit. Like the suits have matured alongside Peter. From light blue and red to black and red.

Now personally I'm only going to be ranking the classic suits, mostly because it's easier to rank 5 suits instead of like 13 (thanks mcu Spidey) 1. Upgraded suit Love the classic look, and the white kinda makes the suit not be a completely warm color pallet 2. Sam Rami suit It's the Sam Raimi suit I mean c'mon 3. Tasm 2 suit Probably the most comicy suit here and gives me massive ultimate spiderman vibes 4. Stark suit Love the colors and character this suit brings, the black lines don't really bother me as much as It does others but it works better on the upgraded suit 5. Tasm 1 suit Despite it being last I love the "Post Nolen" feel this one has bringing a more realistic and gritty approach to the classic suit without feeling like it's been jammed with tech. But the colors feel kinda off to me and the more rubberey look really throws me off. I love all of these suits in there own ways and definitely don't hate any of them. Lemme know what you guys think

My favorite spider man suit is the 2002 raimi suit. The eye size is perfect, the colors are amazing, the spider looks spectacular, it's the ultimate spider man suit in my eyes.

Fun fact: The original early Channel Pup design was actually Pup in a Spider-Man costume inspired by the Far From Home suit, so you're 100% correct on it being the inspiration. :)

Fun fact in the Novelization for the raimi trilogy there’s a actual canon reason on how he got the suit in a passage of the first movie’s novel it states that the Flying Dutch man has a brother who’s a tailor for pro wrestling and the Dutch man informed Peter about his brother in case he wanted to pro.

CLASSIC SUITS: 1. Tasm2 2. 2002 3. FFH 4. Homecoming 5. Tasm ALTERNATIVE SUITS: 1. 2007 Black Suit 2. Integrated 3. Iron Spider 4. Night Monkey HOMEMADE SUITS: 1. 2002 Human Spider 2. MCU Homemade 3. TASM Vigilante Suit I will say, I VASTLY prefer the Tasm2 over anything before or after, not including concept art suits, because you can still clearly see the weblines throughout the suit, and the lenses are great, and the spider looks better than the MCU spider. It also looks like an actual suit when in motion, whereas the MCU smoothes out the wrinkles and makes it look like body paint. Also, while the Human Spider and MCU Homemade are pretty close, I think the Human spider barely edges out on it as it actually has a web pattern throughout, and looks like something a poor person could make. Could Tobey have created the MCU Homemade suit? Maybe, but it's looks too much more money spent, and Tobey basically just stencil spray painted a Web and spider outline on a sweater. Tom had shutter lenses from cameras (cameras are pretty expensive).

I like the classic beetle/ round spider symbol on Spider-Man. I would put it on the back of the tasm 2 suit to give it that extra classic feel.

I love the idea of the black and red upgraded suit, but I absolutely loathe the lack of red on the arms for Peter. The mix of Superior MK1 and Miles Morales just doesn’t do it for me personally. Still, if I look at the suit when close up (meaning I can ignore the arms), the suit is immaculate

An issue I have with the Iron Spider suit is that it's juts a bit too convenient. It's modelled more like the Spider-armour mark 4 (The one when Peter owned Parker industries). If you look at the two suits in the Insomniac Game, you can definitely see the similarities. Nanotech that comes out of nowhere, metallic material that functions as if it's fabric, glowing eyes, bigger symbol, webbing pattern being more armour plating that actual painted/stitched/drawn lines. Personally, I kinda wish they used a look for the Iron Spider like what Insomniac did with their comic Iron Spider design, but to make it stand out more as Spider-man, add some black panelling and maybe some web design to give it a bit of that classic design while having a similar structure to the armour that Tony wore

For years I’ve often asked myself how does Peter even make his suit while keeping it a secret. The Raimi and Webb films have suits that are absolutely gorgeous but doesn’t explain how it was made in the first place. What are you’re legitimate explanations?

Well in the Novelization of both Spider-Man 1 & 2. Peter met the Flying Dutchman brother who was a tailor, after he defeated Bonesaw, the brother went to Peter and gave his number in case he wants to go pro. So Peter went to him to tailor the suit using the designs he made himself, he even made the new one we see in both Spider-Man 2 & 3. As we know that the first one was destroyed on his fight against the Green Goblin.

@@blakepax2768 Technically, the SM1 suit was seemingly repaired as seen in the ending montage of the first movie. He gave the suit to the tailor for repairs, especially for the mask, as he probably needed to hide the suit from Harry at the time due to Norman’s death. Also, people would complain that Tony made the MCU suit when the novelization had a tailor made it which would lead to some double standards.

Now that No Way Home is actually out, my fave is the suit in the final scene, I know it only appeared for like 30 seconds but like I've seen enough of it to know I love it: It has a shiny but not too metallic look. The webbing as actually noticeable for once in the mcu. Pretty sure the spiders on the front and back are slightly bigger and more noticeable. It has a seemless but at the same time bold contrast between the red and blue parts of the suit. And it still keeps some smallish but expressive eyes and simply classic suit looks which are all gonna make an awesome costume in the futue films. Good vid btw.

What I like most about the “Lotus” suit is that it really does look homemade yet professional at the same time. I’m not talking about “Hollywood” homemade but something a person actually made with their own hands while looking practical enough.

Very nice and detailed list! Loved your attention to detail regarding the small differences between even the 2002 and 2004 suits. One thing I remember watching in a making-of featurette was that the 2nd Raimi suit actually integrated some blue into the raised webbing as well so the hue was slightly different. I've been wanting to do one of these lists myself for some time now and yours has absolutely set the bar very, very high. Amazing stuff!

The perfect suit for me would be those iron-spider legs but a bronze metallic fiber exterior soft-robotics version (Olivia Octavias' arms) with cameras on all 4 arms, retractable when I don't need them. With 2099 style metallic fiber so it'd never tear, give me shrapnel + blade protection & I'd have full mobility. Plus the spider legs for multiple opponents or for taking down powerful threats. A spider-hud for night vision, infrared cameras, etc. Huge spider-gauntlet for prolonged spider-web use & multiple spider-web designs & a spider-drone in my chest for a plane, helicopter, or wheeled configuration for reconnaissance. The web design would be in the position of 2099, minimalistic but with classic web design. Mostly red overalls with white-colored webs & symbols highlighting the suit. The lenses would be bronze colo(u)red low-tech popping out of the suit like the shield's stealth suit shaped like comics ultimate spider-man's huge goggles covering most of the face for a wide field of view. It'd look low-tech, tangible & cool.

I would personally rank the TASM2 suit and Raimi suit/s equal to each other. They're just too perfect. Also, the TASM2 suit being different from a design standpoint I guess kind of makes sense since Gwen made it instead of Peter, so they just had two different tastes.

I have a theory about the Black and Gold suit. The small box we've seen in the trailers (the one Peter steals from Strange) expands over the top of Peter's normal costume to make the Black and Gold suit - hence why he's able to use magic whilst wearing it.

Ok.. so for the Iron Spider Suit, let me explain what I think about the colors. Alright so in Homecoming it was Red and Black, Black as in this dark black or gray ish Black from how I looked at it at first. In Infinity War and Endgame, it was this dark blue or navy blue, and I think the navy blue is a lot more noticeable in Endgame, like in every scene with it, I can only just see blue and not black. Then in Far From Home, it went back to being black. And in No Way Home, it’s a really dark navy blue with it looking black at times, I mean, it looks blue in the posters so…

17:45 well I like the fact that the Game for TASM2 explains why the Costume change was Because the TASM1 Game happened after the first Movie (he also had a Belt there) and wrll his Costume apparently smelled like Sewers and Gwen insisted on him to make a New one so he changed it and made the TASM2 Suit .... that is explained by the Description for the TASM1 Suit in the Game

Of course it's awesome if a suit is actually practical and something you can touch but Spidey's suit in Civil War just hits different for me. The colors and the shape of the eyes were pure perfection and something that Homecoming didn't manage to nail in my opinion. It might actually be my favourite Spider-Man suit, tho Tobey's suit will always have a special place in my heart as well.

Personally the TASM2 suit is my favorite followed by the Raimi suit and Homecoming suit in 3rd. Upgraded is a great suit as well but The only thing I dislike about it is the gloves. I wish they were just red and not just miles gloves. It makes it feel less like they wanted to make a ditko inspired suit and more like they wanted to do a Parker twist on miles suit

Technically the Raimi Suit in the novelization version of Spider-Man (2002) the way Peter gets the suit was from a guy in the audience that watched Spider-Man wrestling and he was impressed by him and decided to make a new costume for Spider-Man and that’s how he got the well known suit. So Peter didn’t make the suit himself.

In rami universe cannon, Peter is told by one of the wrestling contestants that bonesaw beats up that his cousin that designs costumes for movies can hook him up. So I agree that it very much is a “Hollywood meets comic books” design

The suit from TASM 2 has the same long spider on the chest as the suit from the first one, so they’re not completely different

The TASM1 version is thinner, larger and segmented. The TASM2 one is a similar shape but is still different.

the reason the night monkey suit was used there is because of that washington dc incident. its usually the rule of one coincidence and then london is so large that it makes sense spider man would show up as it seemed an avengers level threat. but thats just me justifying it i actually agree with pup but for other reasons.
