Using super dives or the bros’ or magikoopas’ fielding special, I have actually gotten Donkey Kongs’ barrel special a few times. I’m not sure exactly how, but if you can time it up correctly it does seem you can catch it without touching the barrel. It’s kind of like catching peaches hit without touching the hearts.

Very insightful ranking video, have been looking forward to this one! The placements are overall very similar to my own, although I wasn't aware Wario's was quite this dismal. It was to my understanding it called on at least some level of skill to catch, so I'm sad to hear my main man's stuck with a rough one. As for Waluigi, I'd say his is very mediocre, in my experiences with him. He seems to hit it to the right more often than not (probably because he's a left-handed batter), and he doesn't quite have the running speed to make it to first before it gets thrown there. It's really little more than a glorified bunt in those cases, and thus too unreliable to safely use. The pay-off for when it does work isn't usually as good as Mario's, either, for which it isn't uncommon to result in doubles and triples on Peach's Ice Garden.

Honestly, I mostly agree with your list! Really all I would do is swap Mario and Bowser Jr, but it isn't a *huge* difference to be honest.

Last time I played sluggers I had bases loaded and used Yoshi’s star swing and got so screwed over by it. It bounced once towards the mound and immediately bounced towards home plate resulting in the catcher getting an out at home on the force. I didn’t even know that could happen, but now I’m always skeptical on using it.

Surprised to not see Birdo last, because when you play against the AI it is 100% out. With Wario, it waits until the bob-omb explodes.

Since I don’t use nunchuck that much, I feel like I always get doubles with warriors starswing. Also idk why but birds not being the worst feels cursed for some reason. Yoshis is basically always a hit. I think I’ve caught it only once in my years of this game. YELLOW TOAD IS OP WORKS WITH EVERY CHARACTER

Before watching the video, my guess is that from worst to best, it goes luigi, birdo, bowser, diddy, Mario, bowser jr, Yoshi, waluigi, daisy, wario, peach, DK

For bowser jr’s star swing, sometimes I see characters just walk through the paint to catch the ball so I’d rank it ∀ bit worse.
