Today's video covers the comic inspiration for a ton of characters within The Boys universe. This video covers all the past and present members of The Seven, Payback, Capes for Christ, Teenage Kix, and even some members of The Boys.

FYI: For character-specific backstories, I did a combination of their comic backstory or in-universe backstory... whichever was available and more fleshed out. Keep in mind the video is primarily catered around what inspired the character themselves, and not what inspired the tv-specific version of that character. In some instances, like Homelander, the show never really outlined what his Vought-created backstory is... they just loosely show him on a Kansas-like farm similar to the Kent Farm and imply his powers are "a gift." In the comics his background is the same as Superman's. So really... I am just trying to clarify what I included and why.

@@KeyIssues Aside from the electricity, she also has a completely inverted shazam age theme. Shazam is a boy who can transform into an adult, while Stormfront is almost 100 years old and looks young. Although in gen v there was a guy whose power made him look like a boy so there is a similarity there too.

Starlight isn't inspired by Stargirl / Starman. Stargirl's powers are entirely based off her staff. The original comics came out in tandem with her first appearances, so likely had very little to do with Stargirl or Starman.

Mother's Milk to me is a mix of Micro (explains his relationship with Billy who's a punisher inspired character) and Nick Fury All three were CIA agents /Spies and have advanced military training and combat skills

Sister Sage also has some regeneration/healing (and possibly is tougher than a normal person, -most supers seem to be)

Per Kripke and the show, she doesn’t have any enhanced abilities outside of intellect… so unless it’s demonstrated I can’t include it. Also keep in mind that there are a ton of heroes that don’t have regeneration or durability (Mesmer, mindstorm, ect)

@@Getwright- and she wasn't in lots of pain when the deep gave her one and she wasn't literally on her knees tells me she definitely has some super healing and enhanced pain receptors where her pain threshold is enhanced She even said her brain continues to grow after the age of 25 like every human being so that proves she's a supe

To me, Stormfront's powers have more in common with Electro than with Thor. She needs to use her plasma blasts to take off in flight, similar to Electro (at least some incarnations, but admittedly not all) and the ability to generate lightning looks similar enough to me and doesn't rely on a weapon to generate it, unlike Thor. Yes, Thor can fight and use his powers without the hammer, but his iconic look always features Mjolnir by his side. Personality wise, she's definitely Red Skull. If Soldier Boy is a parody of Captain America, then Stormfront is a parody of Red Skull, being a nazi supremacist. Powers: Electro, personality: Red Skull.

Not really. Stargirl powers are entirely based off her staff. The original comics came out in tandem with her first appearances, so likely had very little to do with Stargirl or starman

Firecracker is about as powerful as a sparkler nevermind jubilee. Seeing starlight knock the hell out of firecracker was quite gratifying for some reason. Firecracker is way too weak to be part of the 7. I just hope soldier boy comes back somehow, CIA brainwashes him winter soldier style or just a good.okd fashion break out.

Magneto easily. He far outclasses him in terms of power and he can generate force fields to protect himself.
