@Wes Bradley-Taubner I got a feeling the giant Swamp was Vaatu's throne and home. He created the Swamp. The spirit veins when harnessed give the same violet energy as his spirit cannon. Raava didn't always win the 10,000 years battle.

Plant bending was forgotten here, it's a sub bending for water, we see the swamp water tribe use it in atla, as well as sand bending, mud bending, and ice bending

@@Ladovolt All sub-elements are comprised of one of the main 4 elements. Ice, sand, and mud bending should count as sub-elements as well because they're different forms of the main 4 elements. Ice bending is just a sub-element that all water benders instinctively can do, it's kinda of like if all Earth benders could lava bend. Sand bending is also a sub-element. It's Earth in a completely different form from the main element. Mud bending is a sub-element of both water and Earth seeing as benders of both elements can bend it.

Did you guys notice or is it just me, that when the fire healer hovered her hands above Korra, instead of light on Korra's body as if she was closed to a torch, we can see shadows running across her body. What I interpreted from this is that, fire healers can sense some sort of spiritual corruption within Korra's body after she was attacked by a dark spirit. That is also the reason why Korra must be dipped within spirit waters and must regain her connection to Raava to heal her spirit.

@@samueldembela9154 Water bending comes with an automatic sub element and has 5 extra sub-elements that can also be learned. Compare that to air bending that doesn't even have a sub-element. Flight and spiritual projection are skills, but not elements and one requires decades of studying or a visceral connection with the spirits, which is seldom and the other requires you let go off all your emotions and desires, which is nigh impossible. Waterbending is way better.

I want another series about the Earth Avatar, we’ve already had; Air, Water and know a lot about Avatar Roku (fire) I know we learnt about Avatar Kioshi too but still I want a series so badly since I miss the series and the books so much.

1:55, The spirit veins are the mark of Vaatu. Where places are neglected, the savagery of nature takes into place, plants, trees and moss cover everything. This is the mark of loneliness, desolation and neglection. We saw already Vaatu summoning spirit veins in Republic City and this proves it. And we also have the huge Swamp where people can go insane from hallucinations. Something happened in the old history of mankind and the Swamp may have been a place where negative energy gathered or Vaatu resided when he first entered the world or when he won the fight against Raava. Also, spirit veins when harnessed generate the same violet rays that Vaatu used when he fired his energy spirit cannon. Vaatu is the evil counterpart of existence, but at the same time the spirit veins prove he's a vital part of the world.

Every benders have their own healers.... But water benders are different.... Water heals more perfectly than any other ... And spirit bending is also part of water bending....

It’s almost impossible for this to happen, combustion bending is an incredibly rare fire bending skill that can only be learnt if you were born with the ability and tatoo (as we’ve seen with Pli and ssbm) blood bending is also an incredibly rare skill that only a few water benders are able to learn in order for this to happen, you would have to be born in the f fire nation & master water bending.

Combustionbending is cool for many reasons, but I especially love how unique it is. Firebending is dangerous and wild, but Combustionbending is a very precise and controlled technique. I wonder if firebenders could learn to combustionbend via their hands (like Piper from Charmed), rather than needing the third eye tattoo.

I'd love to see the upcoming live action series expand on substyles of bending we've not seem much of, i.e.: - Soundbending - Flight - Enhanced Speed - Glassbending - Sandbending - Fire constructs (whips, blades, etc) - Combustionbending - Smokebending - Snowbending, etc. Not to mention, shared bending styles, i.e.: - Steam/ Mist/ Fog/ Clouds (Air + Water) - Combustion/ Smoke (Air + Fire) - Mud (Water + Earth) - Steam (Water + Fire) - Dust/ Dirt/ Sand (Air + Earth), etc.

2:13 why did the mountain *keep* melting once Ghazan stopped making it? Lava cools, it doesn't get hotter with time. It's not like he opened a rift into the planet's Mantle

What? dude he melted like 70-80%(hyperbole) of the mountain. He essentially transformed that landscape into a volcanic field. The lava will cool eventually, but not immediately. It just happened and since it's a liquid, obviously it'll travel into crevices and tunnels.

I love Lightningbending, but I can't help but think it's weird for that to be a type of Firebending tbh. Other than the fact that fire & lightning are both plasma, there doesn't seem to be much connection between the two (as far as I'm aware) - it might've acc fit Airbending more imo. Airbenders can control all features of air (wind, speed, temperature, sound, etc), so it would make sense if they could control the electrical charge of air as well (like Air Fairies in Fate: the Winx Saga, or air elements from Elemental)

firebending comes from the energy inside the bender, so lightning makes sense, as it’s a more pure distillation of that energy

The ATLA universe gives a great explanation for how Plantbending is a subcategory of Waterbending, but it always feels like it should be part of Earthbending instead tbh: 1) most media considers plants synonymous with earth when it comes to elemental powers (i.e. Elemental, Fate: the Winx Saga Legends of Tomorrow, etc) 2) plants come from the earth 3) Plantbenders wear green, which is an Earthbender colour 4) it would be the perfect way to give Earthbenders a fluid technique (besides mudbending), etc

I think it would've been cool to see Firebenders learn Lightbending: 1) it's related to 'heat' & 'energy', which is the basis of Firebending 2) Firebenders draw their power/ strength from the Sun (the biggest source of light there is) 3) it could be a rare Firebending technique that only a few ppl (like the Sun Warriors) know 4) it would be cool to see more some constructive uses of Firebending, etc If it's a specialised form of bending (like Lightningbending & Combustionbending) it probably wouldn't hv a large variety of uses, but it really depends how they could fit it into the ATLA universe tbh. Eclipse from The Gifted & Stella from Fate: The Winx Saga are great examples of how you could manipulate light, i.e.: - creating orbs of light - absorbing light (to create darkness) - night vision - flashing/ blinding ppl - creating a beam of light to weld/ melt/ cut thru things - creating illusions - invisibility, etc.

Every type of bending/sub-bending element in the avatar universe, from the show, comics, and novels Airbending: Flight Firebending: Lightningbending (generation/redirection) Combustionbending Smokebending Earthbending: Sandbending Metalbending Lavabending Mudbending Glassbending Crystalbending Waterbending: Icebending Bloodbending Mistbending Steambending Snowbending Mudbending Plantbending (in my opinion both controlling plants that have an abundance of water in them like vines, and taking water from plant life) Spiritbending Energybending And then all the skills only bender's can use under a specific element but in my opinion don't consider to be a sub-bending type Air-Spiritual Projection, Earth-Seismic Sense, Water-Healing, Fire-Spiritual Sensing Like if you're a true avatar fan

ice bending is just water bending, energy bending isn't a sub element its just a different bending style all together, chi blocking isn't bending at all but is simply a martial art that can be learned by anyone. and sand bending i guess they just forgot

I don't get how the fire daggers work tbh. I understand using acc weapons to channel their firebending, but I don't understand how Zuko, Mako & Korra were able to make constructs out of fire: 1) fire is a plasma (which is closer to a gas), not a solid (like ice or earth), so it's weird that they were able to make constructs out of it 2) we know firebenders can be injured by fire (Zuko's face being the best example), so how were they able to wield them w/out getting burned? 3) if firebenders *can* make fire constructs, then why are fire daggers the only example we see?, etc I don't get the jet propulsion either lol - how does shooting fire from their feet propel them forward?

It is a female dominated thing cuz in the northern water tribe, women could only be healers whereas men had to be warriors (this was true especially for the Hundred Years War)
